I can't work out if my dds will be over it by then or if I should buy Frozen bits for presents.

What will you be doing?

My dd is the only child I know that doesn't love frozen. But I think it will grow on her so I will be. Im going to get them in the next couple of months though as I think the prices will tocket near Christmas and frozen toys ect will be like gold dust they are already

Lanabelle · 09/06/2014 15:15

Who in bloody hell is thinking of Christmas just now?? its not even july yet.

OldBeanbagz · 09/06/2014 15:18

I'm with Lanabelle. Planning for Christmas doesn't start until December in our house!

(and luckily my DC are too old to want Frozen gifts).

kimlo · 09/06/2014 15:21

No dd2 is over frozen, we have been through tinkerbell and now on to maleficent/sleeping beauty since then.

spledge · 09/06/2014 15:23

Clicked on the title out of curiosity! Frozen presents Confused

Just wait. There's ages until Christmas, and then you'll know if it was a short lived fad or not and won't have wasted any money. I like shopping in Dec for my presents, personally, it feels more festive.

rootypig · 09/06/2014 15:23

No, I'll need the space for my turkey and ham

Sorry for the implosion but really?? Its bad enough the shops start stocking decorations and playing Christmas tunes at the end of October. it drives me bloody mental.

Needadvice5 · 09/06/2014 15:33

I hate frozen and thankfully so do my dc!

spledge · 09/06/2014 15:37

It's closer to last Christmas just gone than it is to the next Christmas. That's what I can't get my head around. It's almost like children who cannot wait (I realise some people do these things in advance for financial reasons would add).

Sorry Blush

You do realise that your moaning about Christmas in the christmas topic?

idiots

OP posts:
spledge · 09/06/2014 16:13

Alas, it was in the active conversations! I didn't hide the topic, I don't until September, as that's when the Christmas threads seem to increase rapidly.

Nice to call us idiots, Mayhem. I'm crossing you off my frozen bits list now.

MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 16:15

And if you want to know who plans for Christmas early then read the rest of the topic, then you go round abusing each and every one of them instead of hijacking my thread.

Hmm
MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 16:23

ODFOD

How lovely to be able to do all your shopping on December. Some of us don't have luxury so it's a choice of

a) Have a minimal budget Christmas
b) Get in debt
c) Start Early.

I choose to start early. So shoot me.

Thousands of people do, how do you think companies like 'Park' turn a profit.

And life would be much easier without all the Hmm faces just because we are not as rich as some.

Lilaclily · 09/06/2014 16:26

Well said Mayhem

People don't click on the Christmas topic if you hate Christmas in June Grin

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 09/06/2014 16:33

Both my dds love frozen at the moment too. I've just ordered the pull apart olaf and tea set today as birthday presents, I think they'll love them. I'm pretty sure they'll still like it at Christmas but I don't start buying for Christmas til I have their birthdays out the way so if you're not sure then maybe wait a few months as they could like something totally different by then.

spledge · 09/06/2014 16:34

My Hmm was directed at your anger. Now I've been told to fuck off! Nice.

Lilac, I can't speak for everybody. But, for myself I found the title intriguing, 'frozen presents', and it was in the active conversations (I didn't see from which topic it originated). I said I don't hide Christmas topic until Sept when the number of posts in active convos increases.

I also said that I wasn't including those who bought so early for reasons of needing to budget. Nicely ignored, though, Mayhem.

notadoctor · 09/06/2014 16:35

We're already planning Christmas presents too - because of budgeting, especially as DD's birthday is in November so it's a double whammy of expense at that time of year.

I'm thinking of maybe getting an Elsa dress because even if the passion for Frozen has died down, I'm sure she'll still love dressing up!

Rosvita · 09/06/2014 16:46

Dd is getting the toddler dolls and dress (cheaper sports direct version) for her birthday on November.she loves playing with her friend's toddler dolls, and the musical barbie-sized dolls for christmas that was more because I wanted them as they harmonise with each other which I thought was cute she collects disney princess dolls (barbie sized) and has asked for sleeping beauty doll and that film is over 50years old so I'm pretty sure she'll still like them for Xmas.shes only going to be 4 though and still won't be at school so less open to whatever the latest 'fad' will be at the time.as her birthday's on November the film wasn't out until after her last birthday so unless I give her random presents when it's not her birthday or Xmas I have to wait until November/December to give her them!

misstiredbuthappy · 09/06/2014 16:46

Im talking about Christmas because I want/like to everyone is entitled to their own opinions Grin

Rosvita · 09/06/2014 16:47

Apologies for awful grammar and typos - on my phone!dd will also receive some non-frozen gifts too.

MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 16:48

I have two of the dc's birthdays in November and one in January Shock

It's an expensive time of year to say the least!!!

It would be madness not to spread the cost of that throughout the rest of the year.

Would also be crazy not to buy a bargain as and when I see them and put them up for birthdays/Christmas.

I do a combination of saving money throughout the year and buying bargains as and when I see them.

Really takes the pressure off come the end of year.

Some lovely replies on the Christmas topic!

I would be buying the costumes for my two but they are boys and would not appreciate an Elsa dress. I wish they did more boys ones than just Olaf. I'm wondering if I can figure out how to make some but that would take me several Christmases.
