I can't work out if my dds will be over it by then or if I should buy Frozen bits for presents.

What will you be doing?

Do the smug "I only shop in December" posters have unlimited budgets then?

Nov and jan birthdays in this house too!

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 09/06/2014 17:17

Rooty beat me to it. Mine will be at room temperature. Eyethanque.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 09/06/2014 17:20

I don't have an unlimited budget, no.

But I do my Christmas planning in December.

Is that ok?

LauraPashley · 09/06/2014 17:27

But howwwwwww on only one pay cheque??

voodoochimp · 09/06/2014 17:33

I think frozen will be OVER by Christmas.

You know you can always save money each month and then spend it in December. On things they've actually asked for Grin

DeanVsSam · 09/06/2014 17:42

My DS's get really into their chosen 'thing' so I can buy really early knowing they'll still be into it by Christmas. So it depends of your DD tends to stick to one thing or if her tastes change often.

I'd be tempted to hold off on the Frozen stuff as I think you'll be able to pick up some bargains later in the year or on eBay when people find their DC are over this fad already and are trying to make some money back.

And yeah, some people might want to hide this topic if it riles them so much. Even in active you can see which topic each thread originates from.

MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 17:51

Have already said U save and buy bargains as and when I see them

I nearly bought the Disney store Elsa dress when I saw it in stock yesterday, and £40.00 is definitely Christmas present territory ... but then I thought that Frozen will have been out a whole year by then, and she might not be that bothered, so I left it for now.

I've done quite a bit of Christmas shopping already, for me it's not just about spreading the budget - I could just save the money until December if I wanted - but to spread the hassle and the rush, and, well, just because I enjoy it. I usually start in Summer, I always have, and so do loads of people I know, is it odd then? Confused

MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 17:52

I save not you save - bloody autocorrect

Frozen will be old hat by christmas. Novemeber will see the launch of the next Christmas movie and all the merchandise. all the Frozen toys will be shunted off to the Poundshops as remainder stock.

MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 17:54

Tbh the clue is in the title, you don't need to see the topic to know it's about Christmas

Dd much prefers the cheaper Frozen dress to the ridiculously priced disney store one, as the cheap one has a picture of Elsa on. I'm really pleased as I've seen one too many preschoolers going arse over tit when they trip over the hoop at the bottom at parties.

I've pre ordered it from Sports Direct for £15.00 to ecive at the end of June.

And as so often in here, if people are discussing Christmas purchases in the Christmas topic outside of Christmas it's usually because they have a good reason to do so Grin

Those who struggle with it Maryz are smart enough to hide it in January and unhide in November. Smile

LauraPashley · 09/06/2014 18:04

Tangled 2 will be out soon I think, they had merchandise in the disney store when I was in the states

misstiredbuthappy · 09/06/2014 18:24

I didnt know there was going to be a Tangled 2 laura dd loves tangled and tinker bell much more thsn frozen at the minute.

LauraPashley · 09/06/2014 18:32

I don't know any details just that they def had the dolls etc for sale. Will have a quick look actually...

LauraPashley · 09/06/2014 18:34

Apologies, think the merchandise might just be from that short "tangled ever after" film

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 09/06/2014 18:35

Yes I think I'll try to get some stuff (dolls) for my DTDs, though by Xmas they'll only be 3 1/2, though they do love it even as young as they are now Smile

GiniCooper · 09/06/2014 19:01

No tangled two, damnit!!
It's a short movie of the wedding,it's only 7 minutes long but they still brought out merchandise.

MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 19:18

I will need two of the Frozen dresses so will def be needing the cheaper ones. I didn't know Sports direct did them - thanks for that tip Thanks

It's hard when their birthdays are only a month before Christmas. It's either a case of giving them presents for no reason throughout the year, or saving it up and hoping they haven't moved onto the next thing by the time their birthday arrives.

Dontwanttobeyourmonkeywench · 09/06/2014 19:28

The only Frozen thing I've bought (and likely to buy) is an Olaf cuddly toy because DD loves him Grin I looked at the dresses but tbh she wouldn't care what they were so long as she could play dress up with them.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/06/2014 19:52

I buy things as I see them but my DD has a June birthday (so I can buy her presents from October onwards) and DS has a December birthday so we buy all his presents and decided what he has for birthday/Christmas.

One year, we searched everywhere for a "Rabbids Go Home" Nintendo DS game. Couldn't get for love nor money and eventally ordered on Amazon for a Christmas Eve delivery......when we had massive snow problems.
But it got here Grin

I would buy a couple of Frozen bits if you know they like the film.
Yes there will be another Christmas Blockbuster, but maybe not as popular?

My DS will be 15 next birthday so he's easier in a way to buy for - he wants money (he saves ) Microsoft Points and gift vouchers.
But it makes his present pile look weeny and mean Sad

Lweji · 09/06/2014 19:55

having ascertained that you didn't mean ice cream
Frozen is SO last Christmas. You will have to think of something else. Sorry.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/06/2014 19:57

I could save and do all my buying in December but I like to start looking in July (QVC Christmas in July) then start looking for Stocking Gifts in October. Small, good quality , inexpensive things are not what I want to be searching for in December when The World and His Cat are out shopping.

So I'll carry on doing that and to anyone who thinks it's off.

MayhemMostDays · 09/06/2014 20:01

You'd have to be a fool to pass up a bargain and then pay full price in December just because that's the correct time of year to Christmas shop

caramelwaffle · 09/06/2014 20:02

I'll be buying something Malificent themed (I was blown away by the film. Blown away)
