We need a new thread to continue the very successful countdowns of 2013 and 2012.

And before anyone does the Hmm face (or Xmas Hmm face ) take a look at some of the 'Panic Threads' at the end of December when people were "Twitching" and stressing.

Organisation is key.

(I just need to find somewhere that'll work out how many days it is Grin )

I took a day off today to get all the presents I have been storing down from the loft, I had been getting bits and bobs down but didn't realise I had so much. Started wrapping at 10.30 this morning and still at it now and that's not with any of the LO done Shock don't know how some people leave it to the last moment, that's far to stressful. We have lots of Diwali decorations up tonight and fireworks going off so feeling very festive today.

The True Movies channel has turned into True Christmas! I love a good cheesy Christmas film.

Great picture - it does look like a sweet from Quality Street!

Wink Thanks (it's getting more difficult to think of pictures that are do-able in the emoticons. DH suggested Christmas Pudding. Erm, no brown emoticons, DH )

I bought 2 books for DD and 1 for DNiece in the airport yesterday. And I also managed to write almost allow the friends and wider family cards on the plane. I can't write immediate family yet as I am waiting on the cards to be ordered through school. But the first 16 are done!

DH is also starting to talk about it now too. And make plans during the car journey "down home" last weekend. Although that might have been to keep himself awake as he drove and distract himself from his DUncle's hospital stay. But things are starting to come together.

I'll have a look at the duvets (I saw on that had a Father Christmas and script writing that I really coveted)
Is yours the one with trees on it ? Beautiful wintery scene?

I am meeting DH at lunchtime today, when we will be booking ski holiday and also looking in the outdoor shop for climbing gear that Santa is considering for DD.

We are making progress, although as I emptied my suitcase from work trip last week, both DH and DD spotted I had a stack of Christmas cards written and addressed, and both raised eyebrows at me. But I saw the flight as 90 minutes of otherwise dead time. DD was very "haha!" about it, but DH was impressed!

I will make a trip to the big toy store this week, so that I get my DNephew in Scotland finally sorted and also the present I need for other DNephew (also DH's Godson) and DD's lego. I need to wrap what I have for DNiece in Scotland, as well as whatever I get for Scot DNephew and DSis (I don't know what to get her!), and Christmas jumpers for DNiece and DNephew.

I can post the Scottish items later, but DSis is visiting this weekend and has some space in a spare suitcase - but DMum and other 2 DSis's may also be trying to fill that.

My DCs asked me this morning how many days to go until Christmas, I thought of this thread Grin.

We brought up a Christmas count-down on the internet, I think DS would have been happy to sit there watching the seconds counting down!

7 weeks and 1 day!!

Skiing is booked!! (That is DH's birthday present to me - it's a landmark year, and we went to the US for family holiday for his).

DD's response to that news? "Are we going for Christmas?" She wants snow for Christmas!! Grin (We're going at midterm in Feb - unfortunately this year it does coincide with UK and France!).

I have to price climbing gear in the other outdoor shop near the big toy shop on Thursday, but DH will probably buy it where we looked yesterday (I have a discount card for near toy store, he has one for yesterday's one but didn't have it with him, but that one is likely to be cheaper than toy store neighbor). But we know what we need.

I have to write a list for Thursday, as I now have a lot of jobs to do and various shopping to get and price. And only 1 day - and I am NOT missing my facial appointment as I have already changed that one twice for other people arranging things in my diary!! (The chances of getting to the gym for a swim before that are evaporating rapidly though - the svelte figure I had hoped to produce by Christmas is looking rather more blubber-like at present).....

Biddy my DD is going ski-ing in Feb half term (with the school)

If you see a long haired, brown eyed girl charging down the hill wearing every brand label ( Superdry, Uniqlo, Emu) that she can cover her tiny frame in (under the Michelin Man snowsuit) , it could be her Wink )

70s* We'll be wearing a mix of Lidl's best and a couple of end of season bargains of mid-range gear from a few years back. I have longed to ski for over a decade, but we've just never managed it before - I have used it though when we had the bad snowy winters a few years ago!! I do still need to get snowboots - DH and DD both have some, but I only have hiking boots.

I will keep an eye out for the labels flying past me though!! Wink

7 weeks to Christmas Eve today.

And it started well. I got up extra early to go to work, as I may have had to go home early if DD was sick (bad sore tummy last night - wouldn't even eat dinner). But my gearbox gave up at the traffic lights nearest my house. So I stood and directed cars around me for 35 mins until a Good Samaritan helped me push it around the corner, 15 mins later the AA arrived (and DH about 90 seconds after that!! Hmm ) so I went off to get the bus while the "men" sorted it all out and towed it to the garage. So I was over an hour later than planned at work (and I need to show my new boss how reliable I am getting in early to be able to leave early!!) and frazzled. And expecting a large bill from the garage. But they may have me back on the road tomorrow (TG - I had a list an arm long to get done, in 5 different directions!! - preparing for my birthday celebrations, getting presents for DNephew before DSis goes back to Scotland, drop dry cleaning and library books, collect mattress for my parents and wine for us all to drink on Saturday, and a load of household jobs on my day off!!).

I may go home and cry later, but right now I have to get on with work....(I may go for a TNL to cheer me up later.....)
