We need a new thread to continue the very successful countdowns of 2013 and 2012.

And before anyone does the Hmm face (or Xmas Hmm face ) take a look at some of the 'Panic Threads' at the end of December when people were "Twitching" and stressing.

Organisation is key.

(I just need to find somewhere that'll work out how many days it is Grin )

3 months today!

lostlalaloopsy · 25/09/2014 11:10

3 months!!! Grin

It is definitely feeling more autumny here, trees are changing colours and it's getting so dark. I love this time of year, if it wasn't for Christmas winter would be very depressing!

Dh surprised me last night - he came back from supermarket with battery character toothbrushes for dc's, he said that we could put them in the Christmas Eve Hamper. I have finally converted him! Wink

Less than 3 months!!!!
There were some lovely character bubble baths in Sainsbury's yesterday and I had to restrain myself from buying them for the kids stockings before I check what I've already bought.
Good work on converting yoour DH lostlalaloopsy!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/09/2014 00:42

losta aaahhh - your DH sounds lovely, from now till Christmas he'll be thinking "ohh that will be nice in the Stocking/ Christmas Eve Hamper" whenever he's in a shop.

He's not a shopper IRL unless it's online. He'll buy various techy bits for DD iPhone or DS computer.

Only 89 days to go now Grin Grin

Morning people!

Most stores are showing their christmas decorations online now.

I bought DD The Walking Dead boxset a week or so ago while I had a Spiced Pumpkin Latte.

I'm bored of saving money now and want to spend it on Christmas stuff Sad

I have had such a good day!, we have 4 poundlands in our city and I went in all of them today! Finally got all the Frozen stocking bits I was looking for so the set of 4 Frozen hair slides, necklaces, bracelets, shampoo, bubble bath, handwash, olaf sponge, wrapping paper, gift bag and chocolate advent calender. Got a few bits in each one. Still looking for the the Frozen sticker book which seems to be OOS everywhere but really pleased with the Works who honered the free delivery and discount code on an order that didn't go through last weekend for the olaf, sister like me and Frozen colouring books. Got a plush Anna and Elsa on order from Ali express and in a dispute over a Anna Coronation dress and Elsa Train dress from ali. But apart from that I should now be done! Bring it on!

nick thanks for the tip, I also have a Frozen mad girl so will be visiting my nearest poundland as soon as I can!

I was really shocked at Dh, he usually gives me the Hmm face when I bring up Christmas. After all these years I have worn him down!

I found this picture on Facebook, had to share as thought it was so funny. I feel that everyone on this thread relates more to the first picture!

I've just ordered my tree!

billingleychristmastrees.co.uk/?prodid=429&catid=3

If you scroll down a bit you can get a discount too! They are amazing, worth every penny and last for bloody ages, even if you forget to water it like I did last year Blush

AND I've just remembered, there's going to be a Cadbury Christmas ad this year - their first one.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/09/2014 19:59

This weekend I have bought :

Christmas Bedding for DS and DD
A Dunelm Mill Teddy Bear onesie for DD (she has been searching for one since last winter, it IS very snuggly) Grin
Christmas tissue paper (Costco) to put in my gorgeous QVC gift boxes

Sounds like we have all been busy! I am so excited to get our tree this year, we always used to get a real one but as we now have a Lo the first 3 years we got a fake one which I hated, but was ok with it as it was absolutely only for 3 years and once she was up about and able to talk to her to keep away / not eat it then we would get a real one again.

I want to make it a family event that she will remember forever that each year we all go to get the tree from the local farm. It's making me feel a little giddy just thinking about it.

Going to try to get to dunelm next weekend and also Ikea if they have got their Christmas things in. I think someone on another thread said they were due in at the end of September.

I ordered one of my Christmas presents online. How kind am I? Taking all the stress and head scratching off DH shoulders.
Must remember to feign surprise.
"Oh it's lovely. Just what I wanted. How did you know I love paisley patterns"

I've just bought Christmas pjs for Christmas Eve 'delivery' as last year I left it too late and they'd all gone in our sizes. I'm so proud of myself!!!

I'm also wondering what age you all stop buying stuff for other families kids that aren't cousins etc? It's a good friend of mine but they have 5 kids!

Have also bought Elfie's Letters, as I keep starting an activity advent calender thing but am shit at organising myself. Surely I can manage to deliver one letter a day, right? Grin

I also have to sort DDs birthday (party bag stress time).

We've just started new tradition of having grilled prawns on Christmas Eve.

Myhensareladies · 04/10/2014 09:17

Well I think today is packing day! One way to stop me from buying anymore to the DCs.

Bought DS Christmas jumper ( mwah ha ha ) and some PJs for DD .

Last year the school did a Christmas Jumper Day on their last day so he has his now.
DD has a Christmas Pudding jumper from Next that she bought last year (hope it still fits her, it was £££ - she bought it , not me )
