We took ours down today, it's now standing forlorn on the patio and our sitting room looks twice as big.

Christmas starts on Christmas Day and lasts until twelfth night. People never used to put their decs up until Christmas Eve. It makes me a bit sad that people put them up so early that they're keen to take them down when the real Christmas period has only just started. I guess the focus has shifted to the (commercial) build up rather than the real Christmas-time which I can't help thinking is a shame. Each to their own though I guess - and I totally know that feeling of just wanting things put straight again. We put ours up the weekend before Christmas Day and it's up until after new year. We took it down on 2nd this year but it's not always that early.

We don't put our tree up until Christmas Eve as DD's birthday is 23 Dec and it doesn't go up until after that. We did put a bit of tinsel and some lights up when the DC broke up from school this year.

Just taken the decs down today, but wreath is still on the door, will be sad to see it go as we made our own this yr.
