Put ours up on the 29th of November, and take it down on the 8th of January after the Ukrainians celebrate Orthodox Christmas.

I leave mine up if its in good condition, but this years tree got taken down today, it was a mess, all dry. Very sad, I've left other decorations out, thing the lights add new years and"winter" lights so that the house still feels festive!

We took ours down the day after Boxing Day and it only went up a couple of days before Eve.

I'm done and back to work and we don't celebrate nye so best to get back to normality before school re starts imo.

6th January. Never thought of doing it any other time. I suppose if I was going to work the next day I would do it that Sunday. I put a lot of effort into the decorations and they go up gradually so I want to make the most of them. I also think that "Christmastime" is the whole if December until 6th jan although our tree goes up mid-December. That's also why I won't shop until December, it just doesn't feel Christmassy. I may rethink that a little next year after reading the "lessons learned" thread!

I'm not back at work until 6th Jan due to my Dad passing away in November and Mum not being well. Also DD3 doesn't go back to uni until 11th Jan, I just want to relax and try and enjoy the rest of Christmas not pack it all away. Although I am doing a bit of tidying and cleaning today.

Mine comes down on the 1st Jan. By then it's been up for nearly a month as the DCs love it going up at the start of Jan.
I'm happy to see the back of it by then, but do like it still up for NYE.

Taken it down today, coupla days earlier than I planned but it's a wild and woolly day so seemed the right time. I've left some lights up and bowls of pine cones. I've got candles everywhere so it's still cosy in the evening.

I usually leave them up until Twelfth Night, but they aren't going to make it this year. I've just had my pre-New Year cleaning frenzy and all of the Christmas candles and advent calendars etc have been put away so that I can dust. The cards and tree are still up, they will probably come down on Saturday as I want to keep them up for New Year but DH is back at work on the 2nd and 3rd and I need him to take the tree out as I have a bad back. I am back at work on the 6th and I want it all tidy and all the darned needles hoovered up by then!

My tree was fabulous this year, barely shed at all. Looked as good going out as it did going in.

I have just put some twigs and fairy lights in the tree corner to compensate for lack of treeness. Grin

Mine went up Christmas Eve and it came down yesterday. It takes a hell of a lot less time to take down then it took to put up

This is the first year I've wanted to take it down before first week in January! Sad I don't know why, just feeling a bit down and also that I'd like some space back in the dining room. Tree went up a few days earlier than I'd planned - 15th, 16th? - but it's doing really well and isn't shedding needles at all, so I'd feel cruel taking it down now. DH has a birthday in early Jan and we normally have it up til then, so I think I'd have to see how he felt about losing his Christmas lights.

Mine came down Saturday and they were lucky to last that long.

It looks so lovely and clear and tidy.

The week end, only because I can't be arsed to do it today. So it will be the weekend as dh needs to get boxes down from the loft, and put them back.

Mine is all away and no trace of Xmas here, day after Boxing Day is the day I get shot of it all. It's not christmas anymore!

Christmas ends on 12th Night, surely?

That's when we take our Christmas decorations down.
