Why doesn't Santa take presents to the poor children in Africa?

Well? I've never been asked this before, & I wasn't prepared so I muttered and changed the subject. What is the standard well honed answer?!

That is what made me realise Santa wasn't real! If you only have stocking from Santa and have presents from everyone else too, could you say he does but that is all they get, no extras?

I think that when some children ask that question they might be starting to question the legitimacy of Santa and are looking for clarification. How old is your child OP?
