Seen it mentioned on a few threads today. I have never heard of it before but it sounds fun.

I'm toying with taking my dd to one but never really been before, it's at 6pm though and I'm wondering if it might be a bit late and long for her, would love to know more of what it is

Oh they're lovely. They have the crib at the front and it's usually a mass about the nativity to celebrate Christmas. In my church there are children from the local school who come to act or read and other young children are invited to sit around the manger to take part. Definitely my favourite mass! Often approx an hour but with some singing and inclusion most children seem well entertained. Enjoy it if you do attend Grin

Is it a catholic thing? It sounds really nice and festive.

Our Baptist church does one. It's a service that's aimed towards children and has audience participation in places. :0)

We are church in wales and do a crib service. the similarity between all crib services is they are aimed at children and at some point baby jesus is placed i a crib in a stable scene. in some churches the service features every child being given a character to place in the scene during a retelling of the story. in our one the sunday school do a traditional nativity then all children in congregation come to the front and sing away in a manger as the child who acted gabriel puts jesus in the crib.
