There's nowhere to hang the stockings until tomorrow night :( Anyone in a new build want to tell me where yours go?

& I can't cobble together a stand for them there's that many boxes to move so there's space for some food shopping to come in later

never moving at christmas again

Can't you dangle them off the end of the beds?

FortyMerryFuckers · 23/12/2013 09:55

Bannister?

mistlethrush · 23/12/2013 09:57

Door handle

Chopsypie · 23/12/2013 09:59

I put ours on the door handles

darkdays · 23/12/2013 10:01

Mine are hanging either side of the window.

RVPisnomore · 23/12/2013 10:02

Bedroom door handle here

yummychocolate · 23/12/2013 10:04

Door handle.

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 23/12/2013 10:05

Ours go on the ends of beds.

LEMoncehadacatcalledSANTA · 23/12/2013 10:07

End of beds here - i did see a good thing the other day - "santa's magic key" a friend had it on her outside door - it would stay there about ten minutes down our road, but a nice idea if you don't have a chimney

ilovepowerhoop · 23/12/2013 11:36

Bedroom door handle here too

Skogkat · 23/12/2013 11:39

End of beds.

HyvaPaiva · 23/12/2013 11:41

We always had ours draped over the arms of the sofa/chairs but they only appeared on Christmas morning filled with gifts, put there while we slept on Christmas Eve. I think this is what we'll do this year.

octopusinasantasack · 23/12/2013 11:44

End of the bed. As for the key for the door, we leave a key on the hearth for FC and the fairies come in through the keyhole, shrink it, then give it to FC outside - they all work together. At least that is what my DD told me one year.

mumeeee · 23/12/2013 12:54

On the banister. Our DDs used to hang their stockings on the banister just before they went to bed, FC would fill them and leave them for us to put them at the end of the beds, This was because DD2 hated anyone except us coming into her bedroom.

QueNoelle · 23/12/2013 12:56

Door handle.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 23/12/2013 13:00

Sofa here too. We don't have empty ones out before - they just turn up filled on Christmas Morning.

Leeds2 · 23/12/2013 13:14

Bedroom door handle. I think there is less chance of waking a child up if it is on the outside of the door rather than the end of the bed.

lucysmam · 23/12/2013 13:48

door handles an excellent idea! we usually have them on display so will have to hunt for something to dangle them from properly next year.

We have got a Santa key lurking somewhere in the box of randomness where I think the wrapping paper is...buried in the garage might see if any of the cheap shops have one tomorrow to save me rootling about. Ty for the reminder about that Smile

ours go in the bedroom and we have a santa key too as no chimney! Grin

got ours in the card factory was £1

WipsGlitter · 23/12/2013 19:05

Ours are left on the hearth. So no creeping into bedrooms to get them.

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 23/12/2013 19:38

Welcome to new build no fireplace hell... I didn't think of it until I got the stockings out! We have tied them to the spindles on the staircase using ribbon and they look lovely (although I then bought another tree to stand next to them in the hall!).

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 23/12/2013 19:53

I meant to say in my first post, ours are left on ends of beds but our house isn't a new build and we do have a fireplace! But we have pillowcases and my Mum always left them on our beds so I do the same.

AnnoyingOrange · 23/12/2013 20:01

Bedroom door handles. My teenagers have had them up for days Grin

MagratGarlik · 23/12/2013 20:04

Stockings go on the bannister here and are opened on Christmas Eve. Main presents go under the tree and are opened on Christmas Day.

JemimaMuddledUp · 23/12/2013 22:00

They are draped over the back of the sofa, then are on the sofa filled the next morning.
