We're having our very first Christmas at home...me, DH and the two DDs who are 9 and 5! We'v always gone to either my Mum's or Dh's Mum's...and various factors have combined to see us alone at home this year!

We're very excited. Xmas Smile

Mrsfluff · 22/12/2013 20:45

First Christmas at home for us too. We've been together 19 years and DD is 13. We're all really excited and I still get out of cooking the Christmas dinner, as DH is doing it.

Same here - can't wait to see their little faces!

We've just (yesterday) moved from a grotty, horrible, falling to bits around us house to a lovely house that isn't embarassing to have people round to....We're having visitors on Christmas day for the first time in five years & I can't wait!!

It's manic here but I've put a lot of effort into gifts for the girls so they can play both inside and out with many of them (garden was unuseable in previous property) and gave in to roller skates Confused It'll be worth the late nights and knackeredness on the day Grin

First Christmas with our new baby so I am looking forward to putting on his little elf suit, lots of hugs, first ever santy!

Going to both grandparents houses with him.

Mrswellyboot · 22/12/2013 23:13

Lucysmam that sounds lovely, many years of happiness to you in your new home x

lucysmam · 22/12/2013 23:29

Thanks MrsWelly Grin I'll be more exciteable than the kids!

I am a bit Envy of your first baby Christmas! I miss my two being little squidgy babies

girlywhirly · 23/12/2013 07:34

Yes, have a wonderful time in your new home lucysmam. Lots of hard work but obviously worth it from your post.

No DC here, it's just DH and I on Christmas day, but we like it.

Last year I had a stem cell transplant and was in hospital until 22nd December. I was still very unwell and pretty much slept through Christmas.

This year I am so excited to be at home with my little family, to spend time with my Dd and that I am well enough to enjoy it.

Christmas for me is now only about making beautiful memories.

I'm looking forward to our first Christmas at home. Dcs 3 and 6, we usually go to family. But this year we are doing it our way, at our own times. Very much looking forward to doing our own Christmas dinner and seeing the dcs open their presents.

BobCrotchstitch · 23/12/2013 09:03

My DPs arrive very late tonight
It's our first Christmas in our little cottage, we have been to them for the past couple years and prior to that we were in the licensed trade so always a bit hectic over Christmas Xmas Hmm
We will be mainly eating and drinking, interspersed with occasional breaks for fresh air and going to the pub dog walking Xmas Grin
