Plans have all gone out of the window and we are at home this year!

Who on the high street is selling a nice decorated christmas cake (for 8), a proper christmas pudding (just for me really as no-one else likes it, but I really love christmas pudding - I have tried Heston's hidden clementine oud, and it was alright - didn't like the centre tbh), and an 'alternative' pud (steamed chocolate maybe?).

Waitrose do Duchy puddings - gorgeous. Not so fond of their Christmas cake though.

Couldn't find any decent puds yesterday. Heston's Orange things were piled up at Waitrose's door. It seems W couldn't flog expected amount this year...unlike last year where the hype worked.

I wanted to try the Aldi pudding that won best pudding 2013 and is in all the papers but after finding an Aldi (never been in one before) and scouring the shelves the assistant informed me they sold out weeks ago :-( Ended up with the Marks & Spencer one that came second. Had great reviews and looks lovely.

I bought a Tesco luxury chocolate sponge pudding, shaped like an xmas pud for the DDs who don't like xmas pud. Also had good reviews.

Can't help with the cake as I make it, love, love, love icing it on Xmas eve with DD1. Smile

Which M+S one was that? I just don't have time to make a cake and feed it with a barrel of booze! My sister makes the most fantastic christmas cakes and puddings (complete with silver charm!).

It is the M&S The Collection Intensely Fruity one! Gold box. I feed my cake booze too, every week since October half term when I made it Grin

I am drooling. Every year I kid myself that I am doing 'research' when I buy every single portion pud I can find to 'try out'. My sisters is definately the best ever!

Morrisons have a nice iced and marzipaned xmas cake with a ribbon round it, a madeira cake decorated with christmas figures and a chocolate cake decorated with a similar scene.

They also sell cadburys tinned chocolate and golden syrup puddings and chilled molten chocolate bombs and toffee pudding slab cakes in the chilled and frozen cabinets. We like the cadburys ones best. The mini nume christmas pud is nice.
