Christmas day.... I am having.......

Starter - Sapo melon with Parma ham

Main - turkey, roast potatoes, honey roasted parsnips, brussels sprouts, swede and carrots, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, turkey gravy, chestnut stuffing, sausage and bacon (yorkshire pudding)

Dessert - chocolate caramel cake from m & s.

I have a cheeseboard, biscuits, grapes, chutney.... Probably have this later on as will be very full.

Drinks

Sparkling water
Baileys liqueur coffee
Prosecco
Port/ sherry
Snowball
Gin and tonic

My dog loves leftover Swede and carrot! Anybody else's?

For starters
A meat platter and a fish platter with nice crusty bread, so there is something to please everybody.

Mains
Suckling pig with all the traditional Christmas trimmings, not sure what veg as dsis is organising that.Chestnut stuffing in abundance.

Pudding
A choice of Amaretti triffle or Fererro Rochet cheesecake.

Starter: Baked camembert with bacon and cranberries

Main: Turkey, Chestnut, bacon & cranberry stuffing, Brussels sprouts gratin with bacon, cream and almonds, Braised red cabbage with apples and sherry vinegar, Hasselback Potatoes, and haven't finalised what I'm doing with the carrots and swedes yet.

Dessert: Lemon cheesecake & cheese board.

Garlic mushrooms on lightly toasted baguette

Main
Roast turkey, roast potatoes/mashed potatoes, baby carrots, sprouts yuck sweetcorn, pigs in blankets, gravy, yorkshires

Pudding about an hour later I reckon!

Starter - hmmm, normally we have nibbles at a friend's house around midday. We will till be doing so, but PILs are coming this year for a later Christmas dinner. I have forgotten to sort a proper starter out - too late for my supermarket shop now! I shall think about that!

Main:
Roast duck with pancetta, potatoes and Marsala
A wild mushroom tartlet for myself
Honey roast vegetables - potatoes, carrots, parsnips, red onion, garlic...
Sprouts - sliced thiny and pan friend with smoked bacon

Dessert:
Christmas pudding and custard
Chocolate spinge pudding for DD

All these menus sound lovely, I am cheating this year having been to waitrose.

Starter:
Coquilles St Jacques or mini garlic mushroom soufflé

Main:
Roast Duck with Cherries
Roast Pots, and other veg, haven't decided what yet, depends what's left when I go shopping tomorrow.
Onion and Thyme Sausage Bacon Wraps

Pudding:
Mini puddings, can't remember all but incl chocolate cups, lemon cups, Raspberry Macaroons and mini Xmas puds

Cheese, lots in my case, its the best bit!

Our Christmas Day will be me and DP as we don't have DC yet and it looks like this:

Brunch - pain au raisin, pain au chocolat, croissants and lots of strong coffee

Cheeses (Gorgonzola, Danish Blue, Reblochon) with crackers and fruits if hungry during the day

Christmas dinner around 6pm:
No starter

Guinea fowl with an allspice rub
Pork and chestnut stuffing
Pigs in blankets
Roasted brussels sprouts
Caramelized carrots
Roast potatoes
Gravy
Redcurrant jelly

A selection of desserts:
Homemade Christmas pudding with plum and rum cream
Yule Log
Banoffee Pie

Lashings of Prosecco whilst opening our gifts at around 8pm

Midnight snacks of leftovers and After Eights.

Is sweetcorn with Christmas lunch a new thing? I like sweetcorn but would never in a million years have put it with a turkey dinner!!

Breakfast - pastries, nice bread etc

Lunch - nutroast for me and something meaty for the others, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and shallots, celeriac gratin or dauphinoisse (not decided yet), sprouts, buttered carrots, stuffing, gravy and another vege (not decided yet) / Christmas pudding and brandy sauce (icecream for dd2)

tea - cheese, crackers, pickled cabbage, beetroot, pickled onions, salad, mince pies, Yule log (if I can get one)

Brunch- bacon or sausage sandwiche

Lunch- no starter
Stuffed shoulder of lamb with an orange and mint glaze, herbed And honeyed carrots, roast parsnips, steamed broccoli, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets and quince or red currant jelly

Dessert- sticky toffee pudding/ Christmas pudding and brandy sauce/ sherry triffle

Dinner- left over meat, freshly baked rolls, cheeses, red currant/ quince jelly butter and fresh bread rolls

Lots of chocolate throughout the day!!

We are having:

Starter: Parma ham, mozzarella, rocket and clementines drizzled with balsamic vinegar.

Main: Turkey, (Gammon for my dad), roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, roast parnips, carrots, broccoli & cauliflower cheese, sprouts, cabbage, pigs in blankets, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and gravy.

Pudding: M&S Passionfruit mousse with raspberry coulis (had it last year, was gorgeous)

Cheese: Wookey Hole cave-aged cheddar, garlic and herb cheddar, Somerset brie and Long Clawson Stilton.

Breakfast will be smoked streaky bacon with poached egg on toasted English muffin.

Dinner is slow cooked chicken stuffed with lemon and garlic with mash and various vegetables.

Don't really do pudding but might go for some chocolate.

Breakfast: Waffles, with chocolate or maple syrup or lemon+sugar.

Lunch:Starter: smoked salmon soufflé. Also, a mushroom soufflé thing.

Dinner: salted, smoked, dried lamb ribs, with mashed swede, boiled potatoes and sausages (pinnekjøtt) and some turkey thighs. Also Brussels sprouts, boiled carrots and broccoli.

Pudding: These almond ring cake rings stacked in pyramid (Kransekake) and rice pudding/whipped cream/berry sauce, and also an option of sticky toffee pudding for DP/his relatives (who aren't from the same country as I am, so find most of the dinner/pudding weird).

Supper: Turkey sandwiches, remaining pudding, some fresh rolls and we take apart the gingerbread house.

Fresh grilled prawns with chilli garlic & fresh coriander.

Goat cheese and figs wrapped in Parma ham.

Fillet steak, homemade chunky chips, fresh onion rings and veggies

Pudding: Christmas chocolate pudding and cream

Cheese later on. Lots of bubbles for me and pear cider for dh.

First year we're rebelling, can't wait!
