Can anyone help me get a barbie dream house delivered before Christmas?!

Amazon has 27th as delivery date...

I'm searching everywhere but so far no luck.

My estranged brothers daughter (no contact) is coming for Christmas at my parents house as a very last minute thing and this is her dream gift and we really want to get it for her...

I cannot get to the shops now! I have tickets / lunches etc with my children and its impossible.

Please help me!

Could you reserve it in Argos and someone collect it?

iloveholidays · 21/12/2013 19:14

can't you choose one day delivery on amazon?

PennySillin · 21/12/2013 19:17

Very have next day delivery. More expensive than Amazon though.

curiousgeorgie · 21/12/2013 19:17

The only option was first class and that gave me the 27th as a delivery date...

I've just found that I can get it by Monday on very but I think I have to open an account?! Very confusing.

I'll look into Argos!

Thanks x

Woolworths online says last orders for Christmas delivery is 10pm 23rd December, so should be able to get it to you.

RhondaJean · 21/12/2013 19:21

Isme and very both will deliver for Christmas if you order by the 23rd. It's £165 on there but if you google you will find a code for £30 off first orders.

You do need to open a credit account with them but you can pay it off in full straight away.

curiousgeorgie · 21/12/2013 19:22

Amazing, thank you!

She's going to have the best day ever Grin

Is it too late to order on next day delivery with amazon and just pay the extra delivery charge? What about Argos, could click and collect, or asda direct if its available on there do next day store delivery?

Rockchick1984 · 21/12/2013 19:33

Whoops, x-posted! Should really refresh before posting when just been to make a brew :)

Guitargirl · 21/12/2013 19:36

Am guessing that your brother is not already getting it for her? Where do you live? Am not sure I would be relying on deliveries at this stage.

curiousgeorgie · 21/12/2013 19:49

My brother doesn't have a whole lot to do with her (or me, my parents or other siblings!), my parents have kept in contact with her mother though and she has accepted a last minute invite for her for Christmas.

She definitely won't have it already. My DD has a ride in Mini Cooper, 3 sylvanian houses and millions of other things, my nephews and other neice have skylanders, X Box One, PS4 as just some if their gifts and we really don't want her to feel left out. (A bit of notice would've been good though! I suspect I'm not the only person in my family who is scrambling around to find her something brilliant!)

amazon prime, apparenlty free trial, we were told tomorow for delivery and it came today.

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 21/12/2013 22:31

curios so sweet of you to be doing this for her, so lovely. I wish my DD's aunts had ever put this much effort in for her at any time, even ifyou do not manage to get it in time, she is very lucky and loved.

curiousgeorgie · 22/12/2013 08:19

It's coming tomorrow Grin (but I hear a nightmare to build! So should probably try to build it then wrap it?)

Thanks for all your help! X

Just saw this ... Is someone going to buy her a Barbie doll so she has something to play with?

MooseyMoo · 22/12/2013 08:30

*in the house

OldRoan · 22/12/2013 08:33

I had a Barbie house (although not as nice as that one!) and in their desperation my parents may have paid a local handyman to glue it together as it was assembled because it kept collapsing... Build it, and wrap it carefully. I'm sure they have got a bit more resilient since then.

I think this is a lovely thing to do!

Oddsocksrus · 22/12/2013 08:35

it will take a little while hours to put together so definitely better to build and then wrap.
I think you are lovely making such a great effort to ensure she is happy and feels welcomed into the other half of her family
happy Christmas!

curiousgeorgie · 22/12/2013 08:43

My parents are getting her the dolls that go with it for my (perpetually skint 18 year old) brother to give her Grin

Odd as when I put it in my amazon basket it comes up as delivery on the 24th.

OldRoan · 22/12/2013 10:25

I think I might be a little bit in love with your family, OP.

This has made me feel all Christmassy.

curiousgeorgie · 22/12/2013 15:23

I don't get that schilke... I just checked it again and it still says 27th.

I've ordered it from Very anyway and it's coming at some point tomorrow.

Just realised I'm being dim. I have Prime so that's probably made the difference. Glad you've got it sorted and hope she enjoys it.
