An excellent list, I'll nick it if you don't mind

RubyLovesShopping · 21/12/2013 07:58

Foil tray to roast the turkey in.

beginnings · 21/12/2013 08:00

Red pesto!?

raisah · 21/12/2013 08:04

Get 4 sheets of A4 paper & then on top of each sheet write starter, main, dessert and then snacks and drinks on the last page.

Divide the list above into each course so you can see if anything is missing from each course iyswim.

I find focussing a course at a time helps me better than writing one long shopping list which is overwhelming.

EwanHoozami · 21/12/2013 08:05

Foil tray, goose fat and chutney! Good call.

the red pesto is for a cream cheese and pesto dip that my sister insists that Christmas day is incomplete without Xmas Confused

Christmad pud is on the list
are you going to offer something for the xmas pud haters? Something citrussy like a lemon cheesecake or lemon posset to counterbalance the rich meal.

You forgot Christmas breakfast. In our house, bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon, nice orange juice.

Crackers & something christmassy or flowers for the table

Extra cleaning supplies (paper towels, napkins etc)

Baileys wine & fizz.

Do you have enough plates/cutlery etc?

kennythekangaroo · 21/12/2013 09:06

Just copied your list down! Thanks.

I've added bramley apples to go with the red cabbage, ice-cream and dates to mine.

Roussette · 21/12/2013 09:11

Ewan... can you tell me about your sis's dip? Is it just cream cheese and red pesto or is there anything else in it? (It's just that I happen to have a recently opened jar of red pesto in the fridge and cream cheese.... and we are a dip family so I'm doing a blue cheese dip and would like to do another one too....)
Ta!
