Another lovely add on item on Amazon - a Battersea cuddly cat for £2.53. These are lovely and soft, they have 2 other colours too but those have gone back up in price since I got them.

Aplaceforeverything has a sale on, and they have severl 'Football crazy' themed storage items for kids' rooms. Also, the 'Goodnight shoes, I love you' bag is a good gift for any shoe-obsessed friends at £4!

Has anyone seen Lego Castle Dragon Mountain cheaper than £28? DS has £20 Christmas money and wants to spend it on this but I dont really want to pay the extra for him...

Does anyone know when the Boots 75% off sale will start? I'm guessing it's any day now.

I've been nipping in most days and this afternoon the sale shelves looked like they'd been organised / condensed a bit. One of the BIG 1/2 price sale signs in the window was down, but maybe it fell off .

I was thinking this week for Boots too. Have had a google and people are predicting Wed 15th.

I've had a look on eBay, it works out more expensive buying them separately! Thanks for the idea though :)

I was in today checking what they have left, looks quite good if I can nail the right day.

Just thought I'd add my local Claire's accessories had some great sale stuff, lots of hello kitty things including school type messenger bags and vanity cases for £6 reduced from £20. Then on top of that all sale stuff is buy 1 get 1 free. Bought quite a bit then looked on website when got home and that was rubbish.
Definitely worth popping in if you have any girls birthdays coming up. Oh yes they also had those hideously overpriced pencil cases and pen and pencil packs reduced from £10 down to between £2.50 and £4. I got some for my dd friends parties coming up! Once again buy 1 get 1 free!

I was in boots today and flapping my ears wildly! 2 People asked about the 75% off thing.

The official line is that they do not know when it will happen, they get told the day before.

But the stock has already been delivered for it. Some of it is out, but loads has been held back until the day.

It is always the 3rd wed in Jan to my knowledge.

I've stupidly booked an appointment in for 10 am. That means I have to get across the county, into the town centre and around boots between dropping DD off at 9 and seeing the bank manager at 10.

Good news is the bank is next to boots. Bad news is the drive from nursery to town is over 30 mins .

I will succeed .

I'm working Wed morning and local boots is absolutely tiddly. Have never been to this 75% off thingy. Do you think it'd be worth me getting there at lunch?

I went late morning/lunchtime last year to a big branch - the best of the stuff was gone but there was still plenty left.

I suppose it depends on how much you want to buy. I only want a couple of sets.

If you really want a particular thing then I would go tomorrow - they will have all the stock out and it is currently 50% off.

reastie the 75% morning is a sight to behold. I don't go crazy (as I have to cart it to work) but I've seen queueing customers with a full basket in each hand and shuffling a basket along with their feet . Big queues!

It's online too, but it's so manic the site always crashes! Plus things might still be in store that are sold out online (& vice versa I suppose!)

Speaking as a veteran, my tips are these! Go with a list of stuff you really want; no time to browse. If you really want something get it today, don't take the gamble. Online, sign in before you start adding to your basket else it empties it when you do. No point in preloading your basket prior to the sale either as it empties when they change over to 75%.

Over the last couple of years, tho, there's been far less left to carry over to the 75% sale. There used to be tons, but it's all getting bought at half price in these hard times!

so it's everything that's 50% will now be 75% then? Do you know what time the website will go live with the reductions?

Yep. Sometimes other things mysteriously appear too, like gifts that were last years lines! The 50% fluctuates online for the duration, with new things appearing. I think it begins midnight online!
