I didn't even realise the last thread was nearly at the end Blush

As usual I'll stick the long OP in the next message, but haven't been so diligent about keeping it updated since it's so close to Christmas and it's all slowed down, sorry.

Funky I bought DH a head torch for around £2, may have been the same one? I got mine from ebay. Does that sounds familiar? Have a look in your ebay purchase history maybe to find it? Mine came from China. Let me know if you want me to try to find the link to the one I bought.

reastie not from eBay, already checked.

I just remember it coming in a large white box. DS has been so excited about it but we didn't have any AAA batteries here Christmas Day Blush Got some today to find it doesn't work! But the amount of £££ I've saved this Christmas due to this thread I'm sure I can buy another Wink

SomePeopleNeedHelp · 30/12/2013 20:32

Got my replacement free gift from Glamour. Full size mascara, nail varnish and eye shadow creme thing. At last! It is worth chasing them if you didn't get anything.

Rosvita · 30/12/2013 21:43

nickdrakeslovechild I couldn't find extra hamsters/puppies either so ended up returning the zhu zhu sets to tesco. Picked up 2 Star Wars lego watched from sainsburys for £4.80 each today-bargain (1 for Ds for his birthday and another to go in the bday present box for Ds' classmates).

Oreocrumbs · 30/12/2013 22:31

I've assembled the last of DD's presents today! I've just this minute finished the school.

DD is asleep in my bed so I've been having a play with it in her room Xmas Blush. Great bargain for £40!

I have quite a surplus left over from the Christmas shopping so I'm trying not to spend any money in the sales apart from some clothes and house stuff.

I don't think the sales are that good, we found such good bargains on here Grin

LaTrucha · 30/12/2013 22:44

I can't remember why but I got a free nominated delivery day from Dorothy P. I'm not going to use it. They are making out like it is a personal one, but I doubt it. It's TREATDEL. I hope someone can use it.

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 31/12/2013 00:13

Rhonda where were they hiding the big burts bees sets? I managed to get two of the lip balm/body was sets for £1.80 each!

500internalerror · 31/12/2013 09:48

My dotcomgiftshop order arrived. Some bits are things I've ordered before so I knew what to expect, but there are 2 things I'm really pleased with. LED candles down to 1.95, & the choc candles (look and small like a huge chocolate box type chocolate) for 39p. Perfect small gifts!

MooseyMoo · 31/12/2013 11:04

Just went to Waitrose and found Ridley's Pick up Sticks for 87p (used to love playing at my Nan's house on Christmas Day), Neal's Yard Herbal Bathing gift set for £3.50, and a mini Taylor's Port with Truffles for £1.50.

Lots of chocolates reduced. We bought Heston's Hidden Chocolate Sauce Pudding for £2.62. Cannot wait to eat that tomorrow we may have bought two

IHeartKingThistle · 31/12/2013 16:07

Thanks so much for these threads, what a great lot of bargains we all had!

DD has decided she wants to spend her Christmas money on a Furby (argh). Are they still cheap(ish) anywhere please?

MooseyMoo · 31/12/2013 18:24

Hmm, haven't seen any Furby bargains yet.

Just saw another Vtech switch & go Abner half price on Boots.

Also Lego City Starter kit £9 and Lego Friends advent calendar for £9.99

Auntiebaba · 31/12/2013 18:37

At last I've managed to find a bargain instore for something when the price is higher online! Picked up the wooden market/shop stall from Asda for £10. Putting it away for next Christmas as dd got the wooden kitchen this year and if its anything like that we will be very happy. Great quality wooden toy for the price.

TheOneWithTheHair · 31/12/2013 18:46

I went to Sainsbury's today. They had packs of Christmas cards, 30 for 90p. I've sorted the dc's cards out for next year now.

MissBeehiving · 31/12/2013 18:47

I went to the sales yesterday with Dsis. To be fair I had done quite a lot of clothes shopping pre Xmas Blush but everything looked really expensive Shock

I managed to pick up a new pair of leather heels from Office for £15 and some scarves/hosiery from Accessorize

I imagine that things will be a bit more bargainous towards the end of the sales.

500internalerror · 31/12/2013 19:14

Asda value wrapping paper is 4p a roll!

Waitingforflo · 31/12/2013 20:26

I saw a bloke buying an armful of rolls of that paper and a box of the value crackers in the Asda sale yesterday 500! He must have spent about 30p in total and looked really pleased with himself - did one of us send him out? Grin

500internalerror · 31/12/2013 21:27

Ha - it def wasnt my dh, he detests shopping! I missed the crackers Hmm

Rhinopotamus · 31/12/2013 21:58

Try eBay for hamsters. I got one for £3 just before Christmas.

I've now officially started shopping for xmas 2014 with these mugs I was coveting pre-xmas. Bargain at £6.59 (even with p&p):

CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire · 01/01/2014 10:51

One of you was looking for meerkat tree decs a few threads back (sorry can't remember your name). If you're interested in picking any up for next year Accesorize had gorgeous ones reduced to £2 (instore).

Popped to Sainsbury's yesterday hoping to pick up some of the bargains you've listed but everything had gone! Although I did find Hello Kitty bath bombs reduced to 90p so grabbed a couple for the present box.

ValiumQueen · 01/01/2014 11:04

I bought the last advent calendar from Amazon. It is fabric and reduced by 75% so just 4 quid.

Fubbs · 01/01/2014 11:13

Bought some stuff in HoF - thanks for the tip off, I'd never normally think of it! And got my first cash back too, woo hoo!!

CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire · 01/01/2014 12:29

Not sure if anyone is interested in an update on my ongoing Body Shop saga (because, frankly, it's boring me! Grin) but here goes:

For those of you that didn't see my earlier posts, I'd ordered some gift sets from The Body Shop but they delivered an oil burner instead of the gift sets Hmm. I spent 20 minutes in a queue waiting to speak to them on the phone so gave up and emailed instead. Received an automated email saying they'd received my message and would be in touch within 72 hours. 72 hours passed and no contact from them. Emailed again. This time not even an automated message. Phoned again, waited half an hour in queue, still no answer. Emailed again. Still no response. Getting closer and closer to Christmas so I'm panicking that the gifts won't arrive in time. (If you're still with me, thanks and here's the update):

So, Christmas Eve I'm running around like a headless chicken trying to replace the gift sets. I'd paid half price for the Body Shop sets so ended up spending a lot more replacing them :( Get home Christmas Eve and I've received an email from The Body Shop. Great, I think, at last they've responded. I open the message and it's a bloody automated message wishing me a merry Christmas Angry. So I email them again and tell them I won't have a merry Christmas because I didn't receive my order and had to run around replacing gifts and they hadn't responded to my emails or answered their phone and that in the new year I would be contacting trading standards. Wish I'd used that threat weeks ago because they replied straight away Grin saying they were sorry and they would dispatch my sets after Christmas and could I post the oil burner back to them. Well, firstly I don't want the bloody sets now because I needed them for Christmas Day and have now replaced them and secondly what a bloody cheek expecting my to trek to the Post Office to send their flipping oil burner back Angry. If they were at all concerned with good customer service they would've either sent a courier to collect it or let me keep the bloody thing. So I emailed back and said to just cancel my order and refund the money. Surprise, surprise they ignored my email.

Sets turned up yesterday. Fine, I thought, I've got a few birthdays coming up I can keep them for. I opened the package and the sets are all covered in flipping snow flakes and baubles. How on earth did they think they could send me Christmas sets after Christmas?!? Bloody shocking.

Sorry for the essay, I'm a bit mad Blush.
