My DH gets a lift to work with the lovely woman, she goes out of her way tbh and I/we want to get her something nice.

She is not a girly girl, bit of a tom boy,she is late 20/early 30's and she is 9 weeks pregnant.
I was going to get something car related like petrol voucher/service as its about a 40 min journey they do but her DH is a mechanic.
ARRRRGGG.
Please help! Budget is 30 quid.

what about a pamper treatment voucher?

Vintagebeads · 20/12/2013 16:21

I don't know would I get anything for my budget really for a spa voucher.

I guess it's hard as I don't know her.Thank you for the suggestion.

Do you have a nice local mall, they sometimes do mall wide vouchers which can be used in any store. I wouldn't worry about getting something personal for her, you don't really know her that well so something like a voucher would be fine IMO.

If she doesn't strike you as 'girly girl' I'd avoid pamper stuff. Stick to dept store or book store. Actually JL could be the way to go?

An Amazon voucher? That way she isn't limited to a particular type of product and the prices are usually pretty good.

Depends how broke they are. If they are fairly broke and saving up for the baby, then probably what they really want is vouchers they can use, or something like a baby sling to carry it in (but 9 weeks is too early to be giving baby presents in case things don't go so well).

Otherwise, if she is not into generic presents, what are her hobbies?

You can get a gift card that can be used in 100s of stores called a one4all. They sell them at the post office and I think online. Then she can get what she wants.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

I wanted it to look like I had put some thought into it.She really has been a god send, and although she is more DH friend he seems to know nothing about what she likes.. Hmm
How he can know nothing after spending an hour a day in the car with her is beyond me.

The one4all or the shopping center voucher seem to be the best idea,I know this logically!

You can get what we called in our family. " the universal gift voucher ". They accept it anywhere.

You can get them out of these holes in the wall called cashpoints....

Making it more personal... DVDs?? Breaking bad, Montalbano, game of thrones?? With a nice box of chocolates, say hotel chocolat? And a bottle of nice champagne (she can have a glass)

Or make a festive hamper up from Aldi with all their special stuff?

The supermarkets sell prepaid visa cards which she can use anywhere that accepts visa. I like these better than vouchers as you can use them online and feel a bit safer.
