How lazy is it not to wrap them?

OP posts:

I do a bit of both, basically if they're easy to wrap ie square, they get wrapped. Odd shapes not a chance.

Gatekeeper · 18/12/2013 09:34

entirely up to you; I wrap them with the odd bits of scrap paper left over from wrapping the main presents but don't put any tags on them. It's far more exciting pulling something out and unwrapping it I think

ShoeWhore · 18/12/2013 09:34

Always wrap! My dad was dead miserable about wrapping Christmas presents and I am over compensating Grin

I've heard tissue paper recommended as an easy wrapping option.

WaitMonkey · 18/12/2013 09:40

I wrap everything. Xmas Grin. Prolongs the fun.

kelda · 18/12/2013 09:41

More fun for the children to wrap them up!

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 18/12/2013 09:43

I always wrap them, except for the chocolate coins

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 18/12/2013 09:45

I wrap them all except for the sweets.

AnnBryce · 18/12/2013 09:48

When I was little it was half & half so that's what I do too, never wrap chocs.

piratecat · 18/12/2013 09:49

i wrap everything, even the chocolate orange. more to open.

BarHumbugBeasty · 18/12/2013 09:52

Normally I wrap them. But having just gone through DS's first birthday there is no way on earth I'm sitting through the stocking presents being unwrapped and then all the main presents.

Usual service will be resumed next year!

neddle · 18/12/2013 09:53

I wrap them - gives me longer to wake up while they open them.

soupmaker · 18/12/2013 09:55

Goodness. I've never wrapped. My mum never wrapped. I've only just discovered that most people wrap. Shock

Moomoomie · 18/12/2013 09:58

I wrap them, I still buy special wrapping paper just for the stocking presents.Blush First thing in the morning, all piled on our bed unwrapping the stockings is my favourite part of Christmas day.

Onesleeptillwembley · 18/12/2013 09:59

I always wrapped - with extra Sellotape. Bought us another half hour in bed. Wink

HaveToWearHeels · 18/12/2013 10:18

I always warp, it keeps them occupied for longer.

HaveToWearHeels · 18/12/2013 10:18

I wrap too !

LittleMissGreen · 18/12/2013 11:00

I wrap the 'proper' stocking presents e.g. small lego kit but not the pants, socks etc which could be a disappointment after the effort of opening.

Grumblelion · 18/12/2013 11:04

Our stockings were always wrapped & plan to do the same for DD - love the extra sellotape idea for more time in bed! Xmas Smile

BobCrotchstitch · 18/12/2013 11:08

Wrapped this year as we are not doing main presents till after church and we are all having stockings This will prolong the event long enough to keep DS on board I hope Xmas Grin

Bertrude · 18/12/2013 11:08

Sock presents don't get wrapped. That's why they're in a sock.

Hertschick · 18/12/2013 11:10

I just wrap loosely in tissue paper but my boy is 2.5 so would be there all morning if he had to unwrap.

wasabipeanut · 18/12/2013 11:11

Wrap it all using scraps of paper - leftover birthday paper too sometimes or brown paper. The DC's don't mind Xmas Smile It takes a bit more time but not much - we don't wrap them as carefully as we could.

I then scatter little choc Santas, coins etc. in loose with Xmas confetti.

TheXmasLogIn · 18/12/2013 11:34

I wrap everything including the choc coins, in the little net bag though not individually Xmas Hmm

It's part of the fun of stockings I think to pull something out and guess whether its new pants or a cool toy before you unwrap.

I don't mind doing wrapping though as I do it bit by bit as I buy, then stick it straight in the stocking, so by Christmas morning actually I've forgotten what's in there and can do convincing surprised face.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 18/12/2013 11:37

wrapped, except for chocolates e.g the net of coins or the mini lindt bears they are just loose in the stocking.

MummyPig24 · 18/12/2013 11:41

I wrap because we use sacks so they tend to be bigger gifts, plus the fun is in opening them!
