The you could also get her a traditional one...and let her try both.

Would a yo-yo be safe for a 3yo, I'd be wary of the long string?

My 3yo dd keeps asking for a yoyo too (think it's possibly because peppa asks Santa for one on the Xmas episode of peppa pig!) but I have said she's too little this year for one but maybe next year she can ask again.

Ha ha, this is so funny! My 2 yr old DS wants a yo yo too, solely because of Peppa Pig. It's the one thing on his Christmas list.

The yo yo ball looks great, I may well try it.

I'm sure a yo you would be safe for a 3 yr old if they are using it under supervision (whether they can actually make it work is another question).

My 3 year old had one...but I kept it put away along with her skipping rope. ...she only played with it when I was there to watch.

dd's 3 and 5 have both asked for a yoyo. I have got one each but debating whether to give or not. They were only cheap from Homebase so may save them for next year. No chance DD2 would manage one, not even sure DD1 would to be honest! They are likely to try a few times and it get left for more favourable toys.

My DS3 who's also 3 has asked for a green yoyo from Santa (it's the only thing he's asked for!). I've got him one from eBay (from a seller who sells new ones).

My 3 year old also wants a yoyo (peppa pig influence!). I have bought a basic one and cut off the string then replaced it with some elastic. She'll be able to bounce it up and down off her hand and won't realise it's not a proper one (I hope).
