Ideas for wrapping money as a gift

My DH wants something completely out of my price range for Christmas but has suggested that I contribute some money towards it (its a golf club & bag) if I can. This is fine with me, as I've got him a couple of other little gifts too, am heavily pregnant so cannot get around the shops easily and this is the last thing I need to sort out.

So I now have some fairly nice new notes ready and want to wrap it with a bit of imagination (and without spending any more money if possible as I'm down to pennies in my purse now). I want to do it as 3 presents if possible being one from each of our dogs and one from our 2yo DS as their 'pocket money'.

How about inside a golfy photo frame, or a golf ball money box or a miniature golf caddy stuffed with the notes?

What about using a loo roll. Stuffing the money inside the loo roll and then making it into a cracker with the wrapping paper

This will out me Grin but I wouldn't do what my Dad once did - cut up a £20 and a £50 into jigsaw shapes and mixed them in a bag. My sister had to tape them together and go shamefaced to the bank where they gave her a lecture. Think is illegal...

Could wrap money around a long thin gift - like a metre of Jaffa cakes. If used £5 might cover a fairish chunk.

When I was younger my aunt gave me my 1st million. Basically a plain picture frame with 6 £10 notes folded to make it look like £1000000, and 'my first million' written underneath. I was chuffed to bits with it.

Gave my daughter money last year in a 'book safe' - looks like a book but hollow inside for money.(can get them online)
Year before put money in a wooden 'puzzle box' (also available online) - you have to figure out how to open the box to find what's inside

If you have lots of coins and a sheet of card you could draw a tree - then stick the money on (double sided sticky tape? You don't want to use glue that won't come off!) as decorations.

Or if you have a spare little Christmas tree or plant or wreath you could wrap the coins up to be decorations on it.

You could get the dc to do theirs in a similar style - Picture on card that needs coins sticking on as decoration... So a wreath or tree with baubles on, snow scene with the coins as snow. Coins as stars in a night sky, etc. Have coins of different denominations to help with variety if called for by the design.

Card can come from old boxes so wouldn't be too expensive (or draw the pix on nicer paper and stick it onto card for strength.

If you're crafty the Christmas great british sewingbee (still on iplayer) did two ways: a fabric bauble and a little coin purse.

From ds, inside a blown up balloon wrapped up inside a box.

Dog A, inside a bag of poop bags with a note saying "I saved up all my pocket money to buy you a nice present, please show your appreciation by rewarding me with lots of walks"

Dog B, wrapped up with a golf ball for dh and a dog ball for the dog.

My FIL gave DH money wrapped around a tube of Pringles with elastic bands then wrapped up.

I like pound coins stuck between two pieces of sticky tape and then rolled up to wrap them... but im childish Wink

For DS's 16th birthday I wrapped notes around bags of Haribo and put them in a Piñata so he had to bash it to pieces to get the cash

Some brilliant ideas thank you everyone. I quite like the coins on a card, may make that tomorrow's activity with DS, I can probably print a golf bag picture off the internet for DS to colour in and then cover with coins.

Like the idea about putting with poo bags from one of the dogs (DH does almost all the walking at the moment), and the tacky present idea, and the money box as well. And the inside a balloon in a box - that could be fun on Christmas morning.

How are you going to get the box inside the balloon?

I tried to get sizzles into balloons for a balloon popping party game and it took feckin hours

I think you put notes in the balloon and then the balloon goes into a wrapped box... that's how I read it Xmas Smile
