What should I use to hang a wreath on my front door.

I have bought a really lovely wreath from a friend and the DC want to hang it on the front door. It is plastic door with a large pane of glass at the top. The wreath is quite heavy as the decorations are attached to a metal frame.

What can I use to put it on the door?

do you have a knocker?? i used to have a wreath hanger on a wooden door but now its upvc i've tied it to the knocker!

There's a way of attaching them with ribbon that goes over the top of the door. I guess it depends how heavy it is,you could perhaps nail it to the top of the door instead of taping like this shows

I used a plastic stick on hook on ours four years ago thinking it wouldn't even last that Christmas and it is still going strong now. I think it was from tesco in a pack of four and I'm sure it would stick to glass

I forgot to add that I live in a rented house so cannot do anything that will damage the door.

I use string, attached to the wreath, over the top of door, and down to the letter box which has a flap thing I can loop it around.

I got a lovely wreath hanger from the pound shop.

I have a huge sucker thing that I got from Homebase - holds a big wreath really firmly.

I use the Command hooks that you can remove without leaving any marks. These are the ones I'm using this year but you can buy smaller ones too.

If you have a lakeland local to you they sell a wreath hook...my front door is the same as yours and its stayed on perfect. I think the sucker was about £2.50

I have a giant sucker hook from homebase. a lot of houses round us have over the door hooks too

I have festive door number envy () this year, as the house along from us has just been able to hang their wreath from the tail of their "9". You've probably already examined your door number for handy hook shapes, have you?

I have a nice ribbon that I loop round the wreath and then take the two ends either side of the door - one side rests on the hinge and on the other side I slightly loosen one of the screws holding on the metal plate thing, tuck the ribbon behind the screw and then re screw it. I tie the ribbon in a big bow on the inside of the door - looks nice :)

oh, you have to loop and then tie the ribbon before tightening the screw otherwise the wreath falls to the ground while you are trying to screw the screw or you screw it too tight and the wreath is all squinty.........the voice of experience!!

I have a wooden door with a heavy wreath and didn't want to put a nail in my door. I have used 2 metal wreath hangers(go over top) and I have also secured the wreath and eased the weight by using cable ties. Didn't know how to post a photo so have a look on my profile
