Typical British Christmas food - but not Christmas cake or mince pies

I've been asked to take along some typical British food to an American friend's party this weekend. Not Christmas cake or mince pies as they've tried those and don't like them! Was wondering about some good cheese and chutney. Anyone have any other ideas?

Just off to work so apologies that I won't be back to this thread until after 6pm tonight. Very grateful for any suggestions though.

Mortified beat me to it
pigs in blankets - had to explain these to my european colleagues when I was travelling a lot a few years ago.

They were bemused Grin

The conversation went along the lines of...so you take an english sausage, then you wrap it in bacon….why would you do that¿?

Eton mess, quiche or scones with cream and jam

I'd go for trifle, sausage rolls or chocolate log - yum

stilton and oat cakes

Thanks for all the ideas, I think pigs in blankets is the winner! Can cook them in advance and take them cold.
