I know it's a well known one but just cant think of the name. I think it has 'star' in the title.

Story is of a homeless boy and he sees a very privileged girl eating on her own at a big table, she leaves food for him outside, santa has an elf called patch? And they fall out and patch starts working for someone else. Patch is played by the man who played Arthur in the original Arthur movie.

Anyone know what i'm on about?

Santa Claus the movie is on Christmas Day, but at 9.25am! don't know what ITV are thinking but i would have put it on christmas eve afternoon instead of Gary Barlow.

The other film you're thinking of might be The Christmas Star (2005)

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 15/12/2013 22:59

No thats not it, too recent. I'm 27 and the one i'm thinking of was out when i was a child, or maybe before i was born but i only saw it as a child.

Oops. That was originally 1986 (so bang on your timeframe) and re-released in 2005. I really must learn to read properly...

They used to always put Santa Claus the movie on on Christmas Eve afternoon, every year! It's so much better suited to Christmas Eve, lovely, lovely film.
