Must have festive treats?

Inspired by the cheese thread, what are your must have treat items at Christmas?

I have after 8s, Turkish delight and matchmakers in the cupboard. I usually put out a bowl of nuts and a nutcracker but they often don't get eaten. Am I missing anything?

Pickled onions. The proper large crunchy ones. Lovely with a chunk of cheese.

Good chocolates, big cooked ham, nice cheese and pickles and biscuits, home made mince pies, mulled wine and I know it's not food but the Christmas edition of the Radio Times. Xmas Grin

Cheese....nicer cheese than the nearly a kilo block for four quid we usually get for a week! I'm usually the only one who eats the majority of it & am yet to pick what we're having this year apart from possibly cheddar with wiskey and wensleydale with cranberries....am off for a browse later in the week ON MY OWN! Grin

WipsGlitter · 15/12/2013 20:43

LaFataTurchina · 15/12/2013 20:49

Chestnuts

Panettone

Mostarda - I'm very happy because there's an Italian deli near my flat that sells it ( It's Italian pickled fruit that people tend to have with meat at Christmas) - Because I am such a dutiful daughter I've just spent £12 on 2 tiny jars of it to bring to my parents' house for Christmas, they'll be really pleased.

We have a bowl of dried ready to eat dates, figs and apricots on the coffee table at the moment to nibble with a bowl of shelled nuts (hazelnuts, Brazil, walnuts etc.) and a large bowl of clementines.

For chocs I go 70's retro tacky - Walnut whips, matchmakers, After Eights, Roses, Quality Street, jelly fruits, Just Brazils etc.

Have a home made mince pie mountain at the mo, but DH and DS are mining through them!

Lots of different biscuits for lots of different cheeses... neither of which we have throughout the year (because we'd all be enormous if we did!).

Membrillo
Onion marmalade
Mince pies
Chestnuts
wafer biscuits- think they're German, utterly gorgeous, melt in the mouth, again don't dare buy throughout the year
lebkuchen
Stollen
Florentines
Black peppered cashews
balsalmic cashews
Sauternes
