Silly question about sherry & mince pies

We have invited two couples round for sherry and minces pies, but not sure if they would expect anything else?

We only have 3 sherry glasses (1st world problem) and I'm ok with buying another set but I won't bother if people will come wanting to drink wine instead.

Also I'm going to make some minces pies, but should I have some other nibbles too?

I would buy some sherry glasses from a charity shop, you'll have a nice eclectic mix.
Then offer sherry, mulled wine, maybe have the wherewithall for a g&t and tea/ coffe.
Mince pies, maybe something chocolatey and some nuts.

It might be best to offer a few trays of the M&S party canapes first to absorb line the stomachs before the drinking begins! Some none alcoholic mulled wine/ juice & water for none drinkers.

& drivers!

I wouldn't expect anything different alcohol wise if I was invited to sherry and mincepies, but sherry I just can't drink, so would apologetically ask for a cup of tea instead!

Thanks for the replies. There's only a few of us so I don't really want to make anything extra. I'd do mulled wine if we had a bigger group.

I'll offer coffee as well and we always have wine in. I'll make some other little tarts to offer as well as minces pies.

Sounds perfect.

I don't like sherry or mince pies, but would be happy with a glass of wine and some peanuts. Would love a sausage roll though Grin

I don't like sherry either but would be quite happy with a cup of tea. Mulled wine really would be more appealing though, could you perhaps buy some ready made if there aren't enough people to justify making it?
