We have two families coming round so in total 6 adults and 8 children between the ages of 2-12.

We are out all say Christmas Day so the plan is:

Chicken shish kebabs
Lamb shish kebabs
Feta cheese pastries (my speciality and so bloody easy)
Mince kebabs
Plenty if nice bread
Cheese
Humus
Salad

Lots and lots and lots of fruit.

Can be prepped in advance and frozen and eaten cold/picked at throughout the day.

I am doing Beef red wine and cranberry casserole, veg tagine, served with jacket spuds and couscous. and a big salad.

Cheese and cold meats and picky bits in the evening

Yum. That sounds incredible. I was going to add cous cous or bulgur but since we can't sit at the table i decide against.

I'm cooking a gammon in cider and spices, on Christmas Eve, and glazing it with mustard, brown sugar and ginger preserve, and we will be having that cold on Boxing day, with baked potatoes, and home made coleslaw (red cabbage, carrots, raw beetroot and celeriac), with cumberland sauce. I am looking forward to this almost as much as I am looking forward to roast goose on Christmas Day.

We have buffet food. Open sandwiches, cheesy jacket potatoes in skins, pork pies, bowls of crisps, just general 'party food'. Smile

We're having a second christmas dinner with the other side of the family.

On the 27th we have turkey and leek pie with mash. Really easy and self serve for the 20 people I'm expecting.

norks that sounds delish, do you have recipes please? How do you do the veg tagine?

LineRunner · 15/12/2013 17:26

Nothing, by the looks of it.

My fridge freezer just died. Thank you, effing Currys, for a dead 18 month old piece of crap.

HFW Mincemeat stuffed pork tenderloin .. I made it last year and everyone went 'grew' at the thought of it so I ended up roasting chicken as well ', but it was so effin delish despite what they thought they loved it and the chicken went uneaten.

Now I'm told I have to make it again this year ,so am .. Dead easy and pretty cheap too compared to most Christmas meat dishes . (its from the HFW meat book and and here.......

I also made the cinnamon cream sauce HFW recommended to go with it , but wont bother with that this year ,, it just wasnt needed ...
