DS has getting up issues so this seemed a good idea.

I've bought loads in the past from argos for him or myself and they always have crappy radios that go out of tune every time you bang it to make it go off

I've seen cool looking ones with a little helicopter that flies off and you have to go and get it to switch the thing off, and ones on wheels that try and escape you before you hit snooze.

But they didn't have great reviews and I want a one that works nicely as well as a bit of novelty.

So anyone have an alarm clock they or their kids love?

More criteria: not battery operated (what a crap idea to have battery operated alarm clocks...)

Last year we bought an iPod dock from Tesco which has an alarm function, so they can create their own alarm playlist and wake up to their favourite songs.

My DS loves his lego ninjago minifigure alarm clock. It is battery operated but the battery has been in for a year without running out. And he's not once overslept since getting it!

Would have been perfect ellesbabe if he had an ipod! A CD alarm clock would maybe do the same thing if such a thing existed...

I've seen those Asheth, really cute! Probably just me, but with a battery one doesn't the worry of the battery running out disturb your sleep?

I did also used to have a CD one back-in-the-day...

Get the lumie alarm clock - it has a "daylight" bulb, which gradually brightens up for about 2o minutes, then when it's on full and bright it beeps to wake you up. It simulates the way humans are evolved to wake up, with the dawn.

Really helps me and DH get out of bed, once alarm actually goes off we're ready to wake up.

If you want a cd alarm clock you could use a timer plug and a normal cd player, that's what I did at uni rather than buy a new alarm.

Thanks Vatta, lumie one sounds good for me
