Emergency 'Budget xmas' plan -

oopsadaisyme · 13/12/2013 14:17

For one reason or another, have to have a 'serious' budget xmas -

My DD1 who's 10, wanted new playstation et al, but is old enough to know it can't happen just yet, (bless him, he's been a bit of a diamond really, wants a proper 'feast' on xmas day, and to help cook, and that's what he's really looking forward too)x

He's got an xbox 360, so asked what games, and am ebay-ing like mad!

My DD2, 4, is Marvel mad, so ebay again, just fingers crossed on that one x

I'm so worried it wont all be here on time or I can't get from ebay, so any advice good deals for the above would be amazing!?

(Ive bought 'hungry hippos' game and any suggestions of similar games for the kids would be great)

Stockings with sweets and a few books etc bought and ready, and planning on a day of games, movies, pyjamas and a big turkey on the table, so budget aside, starting to look forward to it for kids, but panicking about presents under the tree x

There's a few Batman figures on the home bargains website, no batcave but some figures. They also have spiderman bits and bobs as well. You can buy online apparently, which I did not know before

OneLittleLady · 13/12/2013 18:12

Is the youngest too old for fisherprice? I found a buy it now fisher price Batcave for £20 on ebay if thats any good to you? it is used if that makes a difference

oopsadaisyme · 13/12/2013 18:17

OneLittle Just been on the Home bargains website, brill and they have figures and some stuff so will order now -

I'm so sorry, but really getting upset now, kids have been so fab about everything, just wish I would have had more notice to sort before he left us -

Oooops what xbox games are you after? My DS has stacks of them here he doesn't play with and I'd be happy to let you have them? He's the same age so likely to have similar likes.

NoBloodyMore · 13/12/2013 18:23

I've also got a minecraft he's played twice but it won't play on his xbox now (the shop say it needs cleaning) so if you are happy to get it cleaned (out games shop charge £2) I'm happy to send it. DS was too impatient and bought it himself again on xbox live before I could get into the shop x

OneLittleLady · 13/12/2013 18:24

Don't apologise Oops you're having a tough time, you're doing your best and I'm sure your children will have a brilliant christmas just because they have YOU. I can't imagine how awful you're feeling about OH leaving but you will get through it, your boys sound amazing and a credit to you Xmas Smile

oopsadaisyme · 13/12/2013 18:27

NoBloody He wants alot that are too old for him, but is quite responsible so I've said yes to the call of duty:ghosts one, the Injustice one and a few driving games - to be honest, anything and everything he wants for his existing xbox 360, cos he's not getting the new playstation, which is what he really wanted, so any games are all good x

To be honest, never ever saw myself in this position, so thanks for all your lovely offers, but ebay and all budget central seem to be the way forward -

Op, I have some games in good condition, you are welcome to but they are games like Dead Space, Mass Effect, Gears of War etc. I will happily send them to you but are they too old for him? Dh was going to ebay them but I'd rather you have them if they are any use to you. Pm me if you want them.

OneLittleLady · 13/12/2013 18:57

Have you tried gumtree? I know I've put toys on there as part of a pre-Christmas clear out so you might get lucky there?

Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

OneLittleLady · 13/12/2013 19:49

Co Op pharmacies have Marvel toiletries - bubble bath, toothbrush, toothpaste - for £1 each.

hoboken · 14/12/2013 05:57

Have a look in local pawn shops for x box games etc They sell items that aren't redeemed.

OneUp · 14/12/2013 10:33

Might be worth trying fatfingers to see if anyone has misspelled what you want and therefore won't get any bids on it. Could be a good way of picking stuff up cheaply.
