Anyone seen Father Christmas at Legoland this year?

Hello,

We're off to Legoland to see Father Christmas, and just wondering if anyone else has been this year. What were the good/bad bits? I am fully prepared for it to be utterly freezing. But we have heard there is a big queue to see Santa, is that right as we have a time booked?

Thanks for any advice.

We're off next week. Eek didn't realise we were meant to book a time?! How did you do that? (sorry for thd hijack!!)

We went last saturday, the first day it opened. We queued to get on the train down the hill...you aren't allowed to walk. Once at the bottom of the hill there were no queues for any rides which was great. They were toddler rides really, but ds loved them...he's 4. Our santa time was 2pm. We queued from 1.50pm as recommended. We saw him 2 hrs later. Dh took ds on rides while I queued. They'd messed up the timings, I've complained about the wait and they say its fixed. We got hot drinks while queuing etc, so they did try to ease the pain. Santa, when we saw him, was fabulous. An elf took you down there and asked questions on the way, and then 'checked santa was ready' before we went in, he then had a lovely chat with ds who was totally enchanted by it all. Despite the queuing it was fabulous and to see ds's face was magical. Great not to queue for rides too. Our ds' s toy was abit young (he got duplo which he s just growingout of) and we were aallowed to swap it. We got free coffee instead of toys. Dress warm, and I hope they really have sorted the queuing.

Which rides were open, and did you stay in the hotel?

I thought there was a time on our booking, once we find our bits of paper i will check.

Chant I am [shocked] at the queue wait. I would expect a refund for that, two hours is hideous.

VesuviusPoovius · 13/12/2013 22:09

We are staying in the hotel, I've been told we'll get a time when we check out. I don't want to wait two hours Hmm

We are local, and season ticket holders, so no, did not stay in hotel. The wait was bad, but tbh I was hungover, so free hot choc was better than enduring rides with ds. Cannot recall names of rides but were the small big wheel, carousel, odd thing that goes up and down, laser quest, chairoplanes (according to dh), orient train. There is a time on the tickets, but they totally misjudged it. When u arrive see what advice they give about it,. Some people did kick off and demand refunds, but tbh I couldn't be arsed as ds had such a wonderful time and I'm crap at complaining
