What shall I have for Christmas?

DH nagging me to tell him what I want.

I have an i phone and i pad.

Not sporty, not especially keen on pamper packages.

Hate cooking ( if he gave me a food processor I would brain him with it Xmas Grin)

He is famous for buying me daft days out (think swimming with sharks and flying lessons on very old planes held together with bits of string and glue...)

What shall I ask for? (besides a DH who can be arsed to think of something nice himself... Xmas Hmm)

Magazine subscription? One of those schemes that send you chocs or beauty products every month?

ChristmasBigKnickers · 12/12/2013 20:05

Thanks!
Any other ideas?

very similar to me. I've asked for a Bluetooth keyboard for iPad Smile and some perfume. And a new Yankee candle Grin

Queenofknickers · 12/12/2013 20:24

Grin You could always ask for knickers!!! They always come in handy!! Grin

ChristmasBigKnickers · 12/12/2013 20:25

I have a laptop so don't really need a keyboard for the i pad (God I sound really spoilt don't I? Xmas Blush)

What is a new yankee candle?

Oh God no- there wouldn't be room under the tree for the size I require!

I have a laptop too Blush I am spoilt Grin

just a new flavour candle. doesn't matter which one they are all lovely

I am stumped about what to ask for too, and I have a birthday next week as well!
Things I would love are too expensive (Kitchen Aid or iPhone) I am eternally losing weight and then putting it back on so I don't want clothes, I have loads of perfume, my sister is getting me the foundation I want.
I would love DH to get me something personal have seen some lovely things on not on the high street but DH only shops the weekend before the event so no chance there.

SashaOfSiberia · 12/12/2013 21:20

I ask for a standard selection of things. If DH wants to rogue and get me something ridiculous which he often does, I still have some nice bits under the tree.

I like:
Perfume
Gin
Underwear
Pyjamas
Dressing Gown
DVD boxsets
Art books
Anything from Space NK

This year I've asked for a new bag, a scarf and some earrings. DH might not buy those but at least I know I will have one present which I like even if it's gin to help me recover from my other stupid presents

LineRunner · 12/12/2013 21:25

My best present ever was my kindle fire from the DCs last year.

Also it means this year they can get me a new Amazon voucher, to download some more books.

Everyone happy.

lucysmam · 12/12/2013 21:27

I'd like a new handbag and a coat....however....dp has his own ideas I think Confused (tbf he is good at gifts generally but I think he is going to try and out-do last years phone and the previous years kindle when I'm quite happy with both & wouldn't mind some more practical bits this year).

How about a nice piece of jewellery? Or a boxset of something you enjoyed? Something for a hobby?

ChristmasBigKnickers · 12/12/2013 21:54

I have an i pad so can download books onto it but had toyed with the idea of a kindle paperwhite as it is smaller and fits inside a hand bag.

I still take my kindle out even though I put the app on my phone, I don't run its battery down reading away that way Smile

ChristmasBigKnickers · 12/12/2013 22:25

Might go for it-quite reasonably priced.

Fed up thinking of my own pressie though. I have just trawled the internet for something good for him and bought him a really cool present.

Would be really nice to have a proper surprise on Christmas day (well one that didn't involve me risking my life in rickety planes or lion enclosures...)

DP (of almost 20 yrs!) used to buy me stuff that I have no interest in/need or desire for - think white fluffy slippers (White FFS!), perfumes, sleeveless PJs (I like warm snuggly long sleeve ones), pamper kits, a massage voucher - all disappeared to charity shop - eventually he got the hint and bought me a screwdriver set (kind I already have more than one of !) ....
so then he started asking me what I want - great - one year I told him a toolbox and some spanners - the toolbox was tiny - so the next year I told him exactly which toolbox I wanted - DP phoned me from B&Q and got me to talk to the salesman to make sure it was the right one...fantastic! Unfortunately he had to buy me some bath stuff as well....
This year I can't think of anything I want (except maybe a cordless reciprocating saw - too scared to get a chain saw...but might get brave yetWink -just won't tell my dad!) ....and he hasn't asked me yet ...I'm filled with dread ...practising my pleased face (I am an ungrateful cow aren't I)
Actually thinking about it what I would love is a couple of nights in a hotel - a no frills one like travel lodge not a luxury spa break or anything - on my own - or better still DP taking DCs to a hotel for a few nights and leaving me to sort the house watch crap tv and eat chocolates Grin...
