Am thinking of getting a 8kg so we have got plenty of leftovers, is this going to be OTT?
Ive done Christmas dinner before a few years ago but I got a turkey crown and im going to get a whole one this year.

Get the biggest one as we had 7 people last year - 5 adults and 2 kids. We had loads left over and made a fabulous soup for boxing day. Turkey and veg soup...yum yum!!

8kg is about 17 - 181b isn't it? Quite large!
I always get a 141b (just ordered it about 1 hour ago) for 5 adults. That means we all have loads of nice meat on the day and then we cut the meat up and bag it and freeze it and I usually have enough for at least 3 more meals for 3 plus sandwiches plus I make a soup with the carcass.

Have you cooked one that size before? If not check to see if your turkey tin will be big enough and if it will fit in your oven.

ok I went to the butcher and he recommended a 5-6kilo, so that's what ive ordered!
Hope there are enough leftovers!
