Anyone done a bit of early taste testing?

We had a pre Christmas buffet tea last night Grin

The tandoori king prawn ring was yum.

Kids liked the pizza Christmas trees, mini burgers and mini hot dogs.

Can't comment on savoury stuff but can highly recommend the cherry chocolate liquers. nom nom

GeoffLeopard · 09/12/2013 22:55

Those scallops in shells with pea puree look tasty.

themummyonthebus · 10/12/2013 05:23

We've ordered the prawn-stuffed salmon and the white mousse-y thing with raspberry coulis for Christmas Eve dinner. Looks lush.

I can let you know how it works out for next year?

Frozenatchristmas · 10/12/2013 07:21

They usually do a salmon pate in a little flip lid tub. Fabulous on toast.

girlywhirly · 10/12/2013 08:22

I can recommend the Big Selection sweets, far better than QS and the others; also the swiss chocolate neapolitans assortment of milk, dark, and milk with hazelnuts, little tablets of chocolate ideal for advent calendars; and also the melting middle chocolate puddings, they do mini cocktail sized ones at this time of year. The chocolate biscuits are good too.

WhereIsMyHat · 10/12/2013 15:02

Yes to the Belgian biscuit tin, no to the macaroons.

CreamyCooler · 10/12/2013 15:24

I'm getting the Christmas dinner bundle deal. I got a similar one last year and it was all yummy and so easy. I've also ordered a buffet selection with mini hotdogs and bits for Christmas eve buffet. My middle son has put in a request for the Santa cake which will make a lovely centre piece on Christmas eve.

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 10/12/2013 15:24

Their big tins of Belgian biscuits are half price, now £7.50!

CreamyCooler · 10/12/2013 15:26

I got the white mousey thing last year and it was heaven, proper yummy heavenly heaven.

DaddyPigsMistress · 10/12/2013 15:26

Percy pigs. You need nothing else for an excellent christmas

LoganMummy · 10/12/2013 15:27

If I could afford to I would buy everything out of M&S! I love their party food and puddings!

MrsTwgtwf · 10/12/2013 15:44

They usually have money-off vouchers at this time of year. Anyone seen them in-store?

brunette123 · 10/12/2013 15:46

I got a voucher when I bought some food - £5 off if spending £35 on food

tweetytwat · 10/12/2013 15:47

I love nearly all of it
highly recommend hot smoked salmon in the three for ten pounds deal.and pork and chestnut stuffing for Xmas dinner

MrsTwgtwf · 10/12/2013 17:08

Thanks, Brunette, useful for me to know they're running that again. Worth having imo.

SashaOfSiberia · 10/12/2013 17:30

DC always have their chocolate crunch cereal on Christmas morning. It is lush.

I also really enjoyed their vegetarian Wellington last year.

mileysorearse · 10/12/2013 18:55

We had those chocolate ganache christmas cracker puds last year, they were lovely I ate three

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 10/12/2013 19:28

I love the little Vol au Vents from the frozen section, one is filled with some mushroomy paste, one is either avocado or green asparagus and the third is tomato. Love them.

And I've ordered the free range turkey crown, we had that a few years ago and it's lovely - usually I do the whole brining a whole turkey thing but I'm not up to it this year.

I have box of the Belgian biscuits in the cupboard, I love them too!

A few years ago they had a lovely Christmas Pudding Cheesecake, I'm sad they don't do that anymore.

Hinty · 10/12/2013 19:59

We tried the pork, cranberry and orange stuffing at the weekend and to be honest it was a bit gross. Thought it would be nice with roast duck. It just tasted of synthetic orange sausage. Weird.

leesam · 11/12/2013 02:07

We love the southern fried chicken pieces(like Kentucky) , love the chicken and sweet corn sandwich filler, fruit bread is lovely too.
