I have a kindle but still love to read brand new books. Is there any novels you know she would like to read or an autobiography?
Or a historic book? I don't think you can ever get it wrong with books!

I am doing my sister a picture, her favourite song lyrics in a frame - I found a website which creates a design with your words, so it's completely unique... I have ordered but awaiting delivery so can't vouch for quality as yet!

Does she like smellies? I was in Molton Brown today and they have lovely new reed diffusers. I also really like their candles.
What about perfume? There are perfume threads on here so if you know one she likes I'm sure someone could recommend something similar.

My DSIS (43) is getting a posh eyeshadow pallet.

In the past she's had £30-40 makeup, eye shadow, bronzer etc. branded stuff she couldn't normally justify, perfume (she always tells me which), leather cloves, sanctuary smellies were a hit last year.

Endless pairs of silver earrings.

Clothes only if she's with me I can choose what she likes, but 18 plus sizing is really random, so she has to try stuff on.

Scarves as she likes to brighten up her black coat.

My present from her last birthday was a lovely union Jack shopping tote I refused to part with my money for.

She's got me gloves, makeup and perfume too.

Oh and I paid for a hotel to see a concert for her last birthday.

Cloves = gloves it happens DSIS hates cloves and bans them in bread sauce.

I would be delighted with vouchers for clothes or books....things I would like to buy for myself but end up spending money on DD instead....or wine....!!!

What about a subscription to Audible, so she can listen to audiobooks in bed when she's tired? It works on most Kindles I think.

I'm 45. I want theatre tokens, nice new slippers, a jigsaw (because I'm weird and because I've been looking for them for DMIL), bath oil of my favourite scent, Nigella Christmas book, membership of the Tate or Picturehouse Cinemas, a gorgeous scarf in my colour, Game of Thrones Season 3 (downloaded from Blinkbox), the complete Jonathsn Creek on DVD, a Nails Inc/OPI gift set (surely everyone loves trendy nail varnish?).

I'd settle for a cup of tea in bed but I won't get that either.

I've just subscribed dp to shelf improvement, a monthly subscription from the guardian got either fiction or non fiction books, new this year I think.
