Furby Boom or Teksta for 8yr old DS?

He's desperate for one but they're so expensive. I don't know which would be best. Or, is there something else that might be similar but better?

My sone would love the teksta, but the reviews are uniformly awful.

A Furby is at least likely to work, but I know my son prefers the idea of the robotic dog.

Dammit - i was going to get my mum to buy the Teksta for DD (same age) as we have bought her a furby. I don't want to waste her money on something that is shite. Am going to check the reviews.

I looked at Robosapiens when I saw the negative reviews on the Teksta. Furby it is then. Ouch.

Have you looked at zoomer? Think he's meant to be similar but better!

zoomers look great but are even more expensive!
