Oh crap! My Lucy the Dog doesn't work and now it's out of stock EVERYWHERE!

I bought it in September. I thought i was being nice and organised. I checked the 'try me' button on its ear. It barked. So i thought it was working.

Just fetched it out the cupboard again. Pressed its ear. It barked. pressed it again, it started making a squeaking sound, like a non stop bark. Then a buzzing sound. Had to take it totally out of its box to turn it off. Turned it back on, it's still making a low buzzing sound. Buttons aren't working at all now to make it bark. it's just doing that low buzz.

I no longer have the receipt to return it, so I'll have to buy a brand new one.

But it's out of stock EVERYWHERE! Smyths says the next available date is the 13th Dec. But i bet everyone will be after it then. This is a disaster. From now on, i shall thoroughly check every single thing i buy on the date of purchase.

I have a plan though. If i can't get another before Christmas, I'll wrap the broken one, and try to distract dd with other things on Christmas day and try to keep Lucy in its box. then i'll buy a working one on Boxing day and switch.

But Lucy was one of the main things she's asked for (along with Daisy the Kitty which actually seems to be working a little too well and won't shut up). So i'll have my work cut out trying to stop her from wanting to play with it on Christmas.

AAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHH!

Where did you get it from? If it's faulty, you don't need a receipt to return.
You may not get a replacement straightaway, but if it's a major shop you could hold on til they get some stock and return then?

Ahhhh, just changed the batteries and it is now working. Apologies for wasting your time, neddle, but thanks all the same.

It is a brilliant toy! I've just had a go of it. It's hilarious and does 12 different actions. It's the best interactive pet toy i think i've ever bought. She'll be so pleased. I can now sigh with relief and press on with some wrapping.
