so, today I find out I will be hosting for DH's sisters and their families.

it's pre-25th but is our christmas get-together.

I was all set for slow-cooked curries and chilli but DH wants the full works christmas dinner!

That's the background -

I need inspiration for table gifts please. there's 4 under 10, 2 teenagers; then 5 adults ranging from late 30's to late 40's.

I have the finger lights from bargain thread so should be sufficient for the little ones, just need to worry about adults.

What are table gifts?

I do table sweets (tried to find some small boxes - some nice ones on Ebay but I don't need 10) so I got a pack of those muffin cases that are a square of paper in a muffin case shape (in cream/gold)

I put in fudge/mints/chocolates depending on who it's for

Crackers

Party poppers

I need things to keep people occupied for that period whilst I serve up but they are seated. (crackers can't be cracked till we're all seated!)

What about those little boxes with quiz questions inside, lots of different sorts in M & S and should keep people amused for a bit? About £3 each but you shouldn't need to buy one each, maybe just have two teams for a quiz?

Ooh yes, last year I bought Table Trivia Games from Sainsburys (round where the straws/plastic glasses/ disposable napkins and tablecovers were)

If I need to keep people (ie my DC and my parents - my Dad likes to 'help' but doesn't know where things are or what goes where). I make them play "Who am I"?

Have some Post It Notes with famous people written on. Stick it on their forehead (it would be easier if you had the Paper Hats on Grin ) then they guess .
The person guessing can ask 20 yes/no questions.

Just found these personalised Christmas crackers - www.thecrackerboutique.co.uk. You can pick the gifts to go inside each one. There's a range of gifts - some for kids and some for adults. Genius!
