hoping some sales will kick in good and proper before Christmas is here?

Or should I not bother?

lots of sales at the moment, what are you hoping for?

winkywinkola · 08/12/2013 20:37

Where? Where are the sales? Kids toys I'm after.

Argos usually do a big sale close to Christmas (maybe next week?), entertainer always have sales as do the big supermarkets, Sainsburys have a wooden garage for £11 (real bargain) and asda have their dolls house very cheap (around £20), Tesco's have double up your club card points on toys and I think Debenhams have toys in their sale?

AgathaHannigan · 08/12/2013 20:44

Not for gifts but should I have sorted a turkey by now?

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 08/12/2013 20:51

Not toys, but I'm holding my nerve for M&S to reduce their wrapping paper. Next week sometime I hope.

Pollywallywinkles · 08/12/2013 21:00

Most of the stuff I have bought has had good reductions and I finished shopping over a week ago.

soontobeslendergirl · 08/12/2013 21:08

I haven't paid full price on anything and I started in September :)

raisah · 08/12/2013 21:09

You have got about 5 days to preorder your M&S turkey & other food to order for xmas day.

I suppose its similar order dates for other super markets and butchers.

Order it all online for click & collect as you may have missed delivery slots ( check if some are still free).

M & S have got 50% off books atm. I picked up 2 lovely the night before xmas books for 50p each. My ds school is collecting for a local kids charity so all in a good cause.

squirted

did you see that on this morning? Martin Lewis was giving Holly palpitations...hold on hold on hold on until the 17th.....

Marne · 08/12/2013 21:27

I couldn't risk waiting, I got all mine early but didn't pay full price for anything, loads of bargains in November on Amazon and in the shops (argos 3 for 2's etc..).

IamInvisible · 08/12/2013 21:30

I couldn't be bothered with waiting for the last minute. I'd be too scared I wouldn't be able to get people what they wanted.

Mine's all done and wrapped.

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 08/12/2013 22:55

ZeVite no I didn't see that!
I think I remember last year I had it in plenty of time and then they massively reduced what I bought. Am starting to wobble about it though.
If Martin Lewis thinks it will happen, I might believe myself!

andagiraffeinapineappletree · 08/12/2013 23:10

Pretty much got mine reduced early like others, there have been a couple of purchases I could have got a bit cheaper if I waited and others i dithered and they went up in price.

We save one present for new years day and give it from father time so if I see a bargains in the pre christmas sales it will prob end up being for that. Dp used to get money in a shoe from his parents on new years day so its not a totally made up tradition!

BobCrotchstitch · 09/12/2013 07:27

Joules did a 25% off offer and I missed it. As my order is quite large I am hanging fire resolutely and checking daily as I just cannot BEAR the thought of ordering it with 10% off to find that it has 25% off a couple of days later.
TBH it's only gifts for DH and I so not the end of the world if it was delayed but ideally I want them to do it now

octopusinasantasack · 09/12/2013 12:33

Wrapping paper is already 3 for 2 in Smiths, I saved a fortune as I had a 20% coupon for all of December :) Also, all children's books are 3 for 2 as well at the moment.

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 17/12/2013 13:53

WooHoo! Just back to say M&S wrapping paper is indeed half price.
