Tinsel round computer screens. If you work in an office, tinsel round computer screens is de rigeur.

HTH.

Christmas cards hanging on ribbions - of course you've got to receive some first unless you dig out last years.
Light some candles.
Wrap holly and ivy round the bannister.

Of course I haven't actually done any of these things. We don't even have a tree up as the 1yo would pull it over (and over and over) Sad

TheFutureSupremeRulersMum · 08/12/2013 17:02

Btw shouldn't you have your feet up and be resting?

Scented candles for festive aroma
LED candles for safe light (you can put these in front of mirrors to reflect or in the window)

In the bathroom and toilet we have Snowman toilet roll and festive towels , plus L'Occitane Cinnamon and Orange soap.

Cliff Richard on a loop

I think the problem is that you are watching it from afar rather than doing all the decorating. That would always feel less Christmassy.

Maybe get the kids to serve you mince pies and stuff while you sit with your feet up. Grin

CalamitouslyWrong · 08/12/2013 17:10

You can buy festive scented bleach in sainsbos. I'm pretty certain it will smell of... Bleach.

TheFutureSupremeRulersMum · 08/12/2013 17:13

Put some Christmas carols/songs on the stereo. Good that you are taking a supervisory role Smile

HerrenaHarridan · 08/12/2013 17:13

I think you will find the problem is lack of gin Wink

You could try substituting it with mince pies and cheesy Christmas music but I can't imagine that'll conjure up the Christmas spirit in the same way Grin

kiwidreamer · 08/12/2013 17:39

I'm feeling that people are a bit slow on the xmas uptake this year, I'm livid Wink that our neighbours haven't put up their fancy pants garden display this weekend, livid I tell you! I've put up some cheapy icicle lights outside tonight in the hope to jolly them along. I've done all my parties cos everyone else wanted to get them in early cos they are soooooooooooo busy in the weeks before Xmas --I, however, am not and am a saddo--

I needs me some Christmas feeeeeeling :)

SconeForAStroll · 08/12/2013 18:03

How about some no alcohol mulled wine? It works amazingly if you use cranberry juice instead of red wine like this one

And rat pack Christmas music helps!

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 09/12/2013 23:28

Olivia I get that you have a tree. You obviously don't have enough tinsel. Xmas Grin

TheDayOfMyDoctor · 09/12/2013 23:35

You need some snowflake stickers from Lakeland for your windows Olivia. And watch some Christmas episodes of West Wing, while drinking some alcohol free mulled 'wine'.

HerrenaHarridan · 10/12/2013 00:01

And a cliff cd Wink
