Best iPod docking music doodah

I don't own an iPod...so excuse the ignorance...

I'm after a docking station, that you plug in/stand the iPod on and it plays the music, like a speaker. I'm not sure whether the person I'm buying it for has an iPod or just an iPhone.

  1. Do I need to find out what he has before I get the dock, or do the docks take any apple product?

  2. What is a superb one to get? Budget up to £600.

TIA

That's a lot to spend on a dock! You can now get wireless docks with Bluetooth so consider one of these too.

JBL speakers are very good ones to buy.

For that money look at a sonos. Assuming it will be used in a home with a wireless connection these allow you to do it all wirelessly

5th generation have different adaptors to the other iPods. If it is 5th try a Jbl onbeat micro. This was £60 on amazon last month but is now £30. If previous iPod then lots to choose from...

Lol. Yoiu have an extra zero on your budget than I originally read. No idea about top end stuff

No idea if the home in question has a wireless connection. ...do I just need to casually ask "do you have wifi?" Is that the same thing?

Ooh get a Zeppelin. I'd love one :)

FeckinNC · 08/12/2013 23:04

Yes, another vote for a zeppelin here, incredible sound quality

That's what I'm looking at, they score pretty well in John Lewis. The normal one or the "air" one?
