No idea what to get the kids this year

DS has a 'list for Santa' as long as my arm, and wants loads of stuff we just really cannotjustify spending on: a DS 3D (he already has a DSi), a PS4 (we have a PS3) or a wii (not sure if we need a PS3 AND a wii). Plus a phone and an ipad (yeah, right - he is 8 yrs old).

Not sure what I can get him that will be affordable and sensible but that he will love?

DD, on the other hand, hasnt a clue what she wants. I dont want to buy a load of crap she doesnt really want or need. Argh.

What are you getting your 8 yr old boy and/or 5 yr old girl?

Yes, something outdoorsy to get him active? Cricket set, or goal or scooter or something like that?

I might get one thing like that 'for the house' and open it on Christmas Eve, but we have a wii and don't need another thing like it, so I am with you completely on not wasting your money on 'stuff'.

dd 5 is getting sylvannian families house, moshi monsters, disney figures, books, fancy dress, onesie, dvds, possibly a cd player with audio books and disney cd and beanbag

for 8 year old what about skylanders or disney infinity? or membership for moshi monsters to play online? possibly some of tge the figures if hes into it?
