owl print dress for 11 y/o?

DD fell in love with a dress much like this on the market, but it was definitely adult sized. Been searching on the net, but can only find adult or small child owl-print dresses, I don't suppose anyone has run into a older child/teenager one? She generally takes age 12-13 for length but is skinny so even a size XS in adult clothes looks wrong but teen ranges are fine.

This is available in age 13-14?

This is size small in child sizes I imagine you could ask for measurements.

The first one sadly I think is too 'girly' a dress shape for her (not that she is fussy or anything Grin ) - the second one definitely the right sort of thing, will ask re measurements.

I was in fatface last weekend and noticed for the first time that they have children's clothing, and that lots of it had owl prints on!

Clearly my 17mo dd who is obsessed with owls is very on-trend :)

And I'd google owl tunic rather than dress.

Owls are definitely super-trendy, gwenniebee (well, at least with 11 year olds) - your dd is clearly very advanced and fashion forwards Grin

DP is large on sizes though. dd who is size six (aged 20 so adult shaped) can't buy anything in there as size 6 is a generous size 6.

You could always buy this for a fiver and take it to a dressmaker to be altered to fit. It would probably then cost you the price of a regular dress.

this goes up to age 10 - might work if she is a small 11 year old?

SoftSheen · 07/12/2013 20:07

This dress from Boden has general birds rather than owls, but perhaps she might like it?

Actually, taking up your idea insanity, I wonder if we should just look for fabric with that owl print on it? It seems to be everywhere at the moment, & I bet dd would like to make herself a tunic in it, tbh she wears jeans 90% of the time so a short tunic top would get more wear anyway, and it'd be a nice project for the holidays. Can't find quite the right print online, but we're heading to a big fabric shop next week to get me a nice cotton print for a 50s dress so will look then.
