How much do you spend on the meat part of your Xmas meal?

After spending £12 on a free range chicken that will feed this family of 5 for 2-3 meals, I started looking at catalogues of Xmas roasts.

Shock

Blimey!

What sort of thing do you get, from where, and how much do you spend?

I've ordered an m and s turkey for £50-60 to feed 11 and have bought a ham for about a tenner. That will do Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Everyone in my family brings something though so I don't have to provide any desserts, cheese board, wine etc so the meat is the main cost.

£70 rib of beef from m&s. It had better be nice!

Ill get a turkey crown too from tesco freezer...about £15 I think.

Have spent loads on free range bronze turkeys in the past - then we discovered Aldi Free Range Turkeys, around £20 and taste great.

My parents always contribute cash towards the meal as we have everyonr to us every year, and this is greatly appreciated as it is all the "extras" that add up over a few days of relatives grazing.

Aldi Turkey crown is a good size and being a crown there is no waste. Lasts us Xmas day, Boxing Day and beyond! Oh and I get Aldi's four bird roast for New Years Day. Again only a tenner and another family favourite.

We paid for our meat pack a few weeks ago.

£45 for a 11lb turkey, 3lb ham, 3lb beef (for NYD) 1lb cocktail sausages, 1lb bacon and 1lb stuffing.

That will feed us for xmas day, NYD plus one other main meal and 2 days lunches. Will prob make a batch of turkey curry for the freezer too.

About £30 for turkey butterfly for 8 and pigs in blankets. Another £10 for stuffing and gravy.
