What's going to take longest to build Playmobil Pirate Ship or Pirate Island?

About to start Xmas Wrapping, need to know which not to wrap, as it'll be already built, ready & waiting on Xmas day.

Website gives both average of 45 minutes.

I get what you are saying about a 4 year old and 15 month old. I think if we had given a 4 year old q big playmobile set we would have probably have built it first. However I don't think we gave any of ours the big sets until they were. 6 x

We still talk about "The day we built the Pirate Ship".

It's taking quite a long time to recover from the trauma Grin

I'm seriously considering ebaying the island,:now. It's our first year of Playmobil and we're already broken the (supposedly indestructible!) camel and one wise king. I've also broken my glasses, so will be building it by feel, without reference to the written instructions...

I am getting nervous, my son is getting really in to Playmobil. So far we have bits and pieces we have brought from eBay, mainly animals and recently we got the advent calendar.

This Christmas he gets his first proper sets, the penguins, the pigs which should both be easier and a huge aeroplane. It said personal jet so I thought it would be little but it is massive.

I am dyspraxic so building things isn't my area of expertise but I think I will be more patient with it than my husband. Beside he will be building the wooden garage which I definitely can't do.

I dread the day he gets in to proper big sets like the pirate ship, I found the string fiddly enough on sledge with the advent calendar so I definitely don't want to be doing anything with lots of string.

I am so glad he is in to animals, animal sets seem easier!

I did look up the pirate island and ship, they look amazing for a pirate loving child. I want to play with it and I have no interest in pirates. What lovely Christmas presents.

Scornedwoman, don't eBay Pirate Island, it looks really cool. It will be a great present. Is there anyone who can help you build it? Depending on the age of your child you could just leave it in the box and let them build it.

Lilicat1013 I struggled with the string on the sledge. I'm normally fine at building the PM things Xmas Smile

scorned- the island is fab, really! But my youngest is a "shredder"... he pulls everything apart (and he's not even 15mo anymore Hmm).

I have threatened to superglue his police station together if he pulls it apart again for the zillionth time! Grin

To be fair, he shreds so that he can rebuild, but unfortunately he is defeated by the larger sets so far (he's 4 now)

DS is nearly 4, so will want to play with the Playmobil straight away, I think. I bought the ship, island, school and Native American sets (all on offer) and all online, and felt excitement and dread in equal measure, when it all arrived and I saw the size of the boxes!
I think I'll build the ship and keep the island for his birthday. And I might just keep the school until the sumner, when we will be preparing for him starting!
My older son stayed up with me until 2 am last Xmas Eve, building the ELC rescue centre - it had long since ceased to be fun!
Can anyone that pre built any of these sets tell us whether they fitted back in the boxes to be wrapped?
