So I have drawn a guy from my office who I hardly know, although we've both been working there just under 2 years, the office is on 2 floors and there are 2 separate companies in the building, I work for one company upstairs, he works for the other company downstairs, so we don't really work together.

This is literally all I know about him…
His name
He's a graphic designer for the other company
He's married and his wife is pregnant
He is quite chatty and when we do talk I feel I have to end the conversation or I'll be there forever!
He doesn't celebrate christmas in his religion (so I assume he is partaking in the office christmas party and secret santa just to go with everyone else?
No idea if he drinks or if he does then what he drinks?

I asked another guy who works with him for suggestions and as it happens he bought for him last year…he said he bought him a fuzzy felt kit as he thought it would bring out his creative designer side Hmm and apparently he didn't look too impressed.

what would you buy for this guy?

My only thought is some jazzy office supplies as his office manager is very tight when it comes to the stationary budget, so I thought a nice ish pen, jazzy post it notes and paper clips etc, (Which I would love!) but DH said that is shit and too girly.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Is it his first child? You could get a funny book about being a parent?

Haynes Baby Manual, if in budget.

Anything will be better than fuzzy felt though!

Oh yes forgot budget...£10 ish but I'm
not too bothered if I go over.
Yes it's his 1st child...consensus says funny parenting book so will look into Hayes manual - I've seen that before and it's funny, good idea! I knew MN would have the answer! Thanks all Grin

..does he have a Smart Phone - how about those gloves with the special fingertips so that you can use you phone in the cold...

Some kind of neat keyring

A colour changing alarm clock - so that he arrives at work on time..

Sorry clutching at straws rather than pearls as I was guessing that the gift had to be under a tenner or so....

lookoveryourshouldernow · 05/12/2013 21:52

..ooops just saw that your budge is a tenner..

lookoveryourshouldernow · 05/12/2013 21:58

....my suggestion - keep it simple...

..for my sins I have just searched on Ebay for "Novelty Men Gift" - God help us ... the amount of naff stuff that was listed was unbelievable - I hope that we can credit our men-folk with more thought inducing presents that were listed on this search....

take a trip to Maplins - practically anything in there will work.
