Idea for MIL please - travel related?

Hi, would like to get my MIL a thoughtful present for Christmas, but I have no inspiration (already have her some posh slippers).

She is going on holiday to Africa next year - can anyone think of anything thoughtful that I could get her as a gift, that may be useful on holiday?

Travel journal? Voucher for lounge access at the airport?

For Africa I'd get something like a roll-up sun hat or some nice sunglasses. Does she have a kindle? If feeling flush get her one of those and some amazon vouchers for books to load on it for the trip.

Have to be honest the thread title made me think 'one way ticket to Siberia' as a travel related pressie for my mil

Is she going on safari ? If so good binoculars, camera, album , diary/journal

Ooh, I popped into an independent gift shop with DS at the weekend and saw beautiful travel journals. There were lined pages, envelope pages for, erm, stuff (!) and plain pages for photos.
Sadly overkill for our trip to France but definitely great for Africa

A solar lamp or perhaps a torch

A bird book (if she's doing safari)

A leather travel/documents wallet from somewhere like aspinal or smythson (if budget large) or cath kidson

A wind-up torch or radio. Avon SkinSoSoft stuff (great mosquito repellent). An iPod shuffle. A "point-it" picture book.
