I have finally finished my Christmas shopping, I had 3 kids and the rest of the family to buy for, dh has 2 teenagers to buy for ( I did the girls, he's doing the boys and hasn't started yet ), I have wrapped most of it today, just waiting for the last few bits to come in the post from Amazon, now I can enjoy December without too much stress and no busy shops and queues < feeling smug > anyone want to join me?

Same here. Just back from a quick trip into town on my lunch break and got the last of it - A Primark Gift Card. 85% of it is wrapped and I'll finish the rest tonight.

Tree went up yesterday so thats me sorted Christmas wise. Food to be collected from M&S on Christmas Eve morning.

Simples :)

OryxCrake · 02/12/2013 14:05

I have not started yet

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 02/12/2013 14:07

La la la la I'm not listening

FreakinScaryCaaw · 02/12/2013 14:08

I've done a lot not finished yet. Tree's up but need to put the rest of the decs up.

Well done you two. I work long days but really could do some more online. Dss haven't written their Christmas lists yet. I've bought for everyone else though.

I look forward to the big food shop with dp. He loves shopping and goes mad Xmas Grin

CaptainSweatPants · 02/12/2013 14:09

I have to say I think going to m&s on Xmas eve sounds hell to me
I'll be sitting with my feet up that day Grin

FreakinScaryCaaw · 02/12/2013 14:11

exMIL says M&S are rubbish now? She used to be their biggest fan.

mumtoone1 · 02/12/2013 14:11

haha Captain! Can confirm mine local isn't too bad. I picked the first slot of the day (8am) which helps with the crowds. I've done it for the last 8+ years and never had a problem. I have heard from others who live at different locations that its not so easy.

Touch wood for me...

I'll be avoiding the supermarkets though, they are bad enough here now..

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 02/12/2013 14:27

Oh god, supermarkets here are hideous already too. I rarely go at the weekends, I am a SAHM and often get it delivered or go on a Monday morning, but had to run in yesterday and could hardly move. The queue to get in to the car park was highly unwelcome.
I'm not finished but have done pretty well. I think I have about 8 more people to get for and then finish the DDs off. Some controller attachments for their new console, few bits for under the tree and then the last of their stocking fillers.
DP will sort out the food side of things as he does all the cooking. He even battles the supermarket.

MrsMot · 02/12/2013 14:30

I'm done too, with four dcs it's just too much stress leaving it late. Was also helped by them doing their lists at the start of November....

We're also doing the big family visit in a couple of weeks so had to have that all sorted anyway. Never bother with food ordering, we go out early Christmas Eve.

callmekitten · 02/12/2013 14:36

All done too but feeling a bit twitchy. And haven't wrapped a thing yet.

WholeNutt · 02/12/2013 15:09

Almost finished! I'll be decorating the tree and wrapping presents this weekend while dh is away. and stuffing mince pies

Marne · 02/12/2013 15:53

I have been trying to get a Tesco delivery slot but not looking hopeful Sad, I hate the food shop, if I do have to go and do it I shall go at night when its not as busy.

Our decorations will go up at the weekend as dh is working and has his xmas party so will give the dd's and I something to do.

I've finished shopping and everything is wrapped Xmas Grin

IamInvisible · 02/12/2013 16:04

I've finished too, it was all wrapped last weekend. My cards are written but I think it is too early to post. I've got my Asda slot reserved with cheese and veg atm.

DH is serving in the RAF and is away this Christmas, he has received his parcels already, too.

Oblomov · 02/12/2013 16:06

I have nothing to buy. Because we are only buying the ds's one big joint present and that is ordered.
Just have food to think about.

TheHOHOHOnlyPink · 02/12/2013 16:08

I'm smuggy mc smugson here too. Friend of mine was on fb yesterday evening saying she was 40 mins trying to get out of the shopping centre car park! So glad i don't have to bother with all that.

i will wrap next week once the tree is up, me and dh love to make a night of it with Christmas music and mulled wine total saddos makes it a bit more appealing!

Oblomov · 02/12/2013 16:15

When are you having your Tesco food delivered?
Sainsbury's have deliveries left on the Monday 23rd. Tons of them. Is that no good?

Marne · 02/12/2013 16:46

Thanks Oblomov, will look at sainsburys, Tesco only have slots for the 21st Sad.

I don't normally start mine until December, but I've finished already this year using a combination of local shops, high street and online. To top it all I managed to get plenty of reduced items as well.

Most of the non perishables have now been bought, so just the fresh stuff to buy. We will hit the supermarket late or early to get what we don't manage to get at the farmers market.

TheHOHOHOnlyPink · 02/12/2013 18:58

Marne I'm in roi so might be totally wrong, but Tesco haven't released their Christmas dates for non saver customers yet, i am pretty sure its tomorrow.

Anja1Cam · 02/12/2013 19:07

Done too! Last Friday to be precise. Must add that niece and nephew are just getting money (cheques) and DH has agreed to find something for impossible to buy for FIL... I have even wrapped a fewfew things already which is unheard of! As for the food, I will add to it as the month goes on, with the last shop of fresh thing s will probably be early morning on the 23rd. Would not entrust that to an online shop. Goose and veg will be delivered around that date as well.

Xmas Grin
Damnautocorrect · 02/12/2013 19:19

Mines done, just need to find some beautiful gift wrap for a friend of mines pressie who always wraps things beautifully and my cheap b and m paper won't cut it.
Got two more presents to wrap when they come
Finger lights arrived this morning whoop whoop!!! And that's me done

lljkk · 02/12/2013 19:28

Shopping has been crowded in my city for weeks.
How can you be so sure you've got right gift when buying early? Yesterday DD had a tantrum because she wants an art set (first we heard of it) and she thinks it's outrageous we've already decided on gifts. She's got a point, it's still 3 weeks to Christmas. Shouldn't be too late.

And then if it's a big pile of stuff you have to keep it well hidden for weeks yet.

Marne · 02/12/2013 19:48

lljkk- we had that exact problem yesterday, I have been buying bits since October, trying to get things the dd's have asked for, thought I had got everything and then dd2 asks for something (whilst writing her list) that I had not bought. Luckily I hadn't spent a huge fortune on her so could still buy the item she had asked for (and have put back a lego set for her birthday), I think this is the last year I do the shopping early Sad.
