Help! I know you will think he is spoilt but my 11yo boy has everything. I enter a lot of competitions and over the years we have won things so he already has an ipad and laptop. He is not into sport and has outgrown toys. He is a bit geeky. Not interested in clothes or toiletries. I really need an idea for a main present or several smaller presents and I want to spend about £200. He has an older brother so he gets hand downs as well eg he already has a bike. He likes science (but we have had hotwires), minecraft and games (we have an xbox). I am wondering if an 'experience' voucher would be good? We have also already done Young Drivers. Arghhhh he will just be getting an Amazon voucher at this rate!!

A tent?
A microscope?
A really good quality stunt kite?

Cathycat · 02/12/2013 12:17

My son is your son! I have bought him Lego Minecraft And have realised that his love of soft clothes / luxury items helps - a new dressing gown, bean bag, hat with headphones in. In Toys r us there are some great mini technical keyboards too that he loves. In fact it may be a good idea to go for a casual browse with him, not to say what would you like but to get a few clues.

i second a bean bag or gaming chair?

voucher for an outing would be good to.
scooter?

spababe · 02/12/2013 12:46

He has a scooter and has outgrown that and also has a beanbag he never uses! His bedroom is quite small - too small for a gaming chair. I like the stunt kite idea and I had already got a very soft furry throw from Primark as he loves blankets and snuggly things. Going to look at the mini keyboards as well.

Please keep the suggestions coming! thank you x

ipod? for music?

Okay this borders on 'spending money for the sake of it but how about something for his bedroom, a Mathmos lava lamp? A design classic.

Another outdoorsy thing, DH reminded me, our DS loved the stomp rocket.

Might not quite get to £200 but what about a Percy Jackson Book set, there are nine I think so far. Plus the DVDs and a load of popcorn/sweets etc to eat when watching the films. They are brill.

I LOVE Percy Jackson books and could happily read them all again and I am 37
