When does your Christmas tree go up and down?

Have noticed a lot of trees have been put up over the weekend but was wondering when people take them down as well. I put mine up around the middle of December and then keep it up until twelfth night but I know quite a few people take it down before new year.

Was wondering if those people are more likely to have put it up earlier too and so whether trees are up for roughly the same amount of time. Or whether there's no correlation

If it was me putting it up I'd do the same as my mum.

Up on the 1st, down on the 31st

Ours goes up the second week in December usually . This year it is going up in Sunday as dh and I are both off work . Usually comes down 2nd or third January , whatever my first day off is after having to work new year .

Mine went up at the weekend. I will probably take it down on around Jan 2nd. DM always put hers up on Nov 24th and took it down on twelfth night, but she is also a mad Christmas person who has three trees. I like Christmas too but I'm not quite as committed as she is.

It will go up sometime this week (DC have wanted it up for weeks already) and will probably come down the weekend before they go back to school, so 4/5th Jan. Totally don't get people who take it down before new year, 'tis all part of the festive season IMO

Same as you OP - we put a real tree up in mid December and take it down on or just before the 6th January.

Christmas starts for us when we put out our nativity sets on the first Sunday of advent and we slowly build from there.

I have friends who out their tree up yesterday, but they'll take it down again the day after Boxing Day, which is way too early for us.

I put mine up around the 8th of Dec, and often take them down on new years day!
my mum gives out every year that I take them down too early but feel like Jan 1st is a fresh, clean kind of day and I like to get back to normal.

Up last week (but usually first weekend in December) and down the day after Boxing Day.

Mine went up yesterday which is early but I do have family staying just now and they fly home this week to a very hot and sunny climate so they really enjoyed helping yesterday.

Likely to come down sometime after New Year and definitely before 5th January.

mine up goes up the first weekend of dec.. so this year we did it sat. and normally get taken down 27 ready for ds2 birthday on the 28th, but i think this tyear i will try to keep it up longer :)

mine goes up the 2nd weekend of december and then down on the 8th jan.
my sisters birthday is the 7th and we would always keep it up for her birthday

Up 20th or 21st December for the solstice, down on Twelfth Night.

Ours always goes up on the first Sunday in December and comes down a couple of days after New Years, but no set date. This year we put the tree up yesterday and will have to take it down a few days before the 31st as we're going on holiday on New Year's Day.
