'Big' present for baby?!

Dd will be almost 11 months in Christmas Day I'm stuck what to get her as her main present- she already has a rocking horse and her GPs are getting a swing(outdoor), walker so they're out too.have looked at the wheelybug ride on but oh doesn't think they look safe.

Any ideas? Budget up to 110-120

I know this sounds boring, but sounds like She already has everything, why don't you just buy her a few little toys and put the rest into her savings account.
I'm sure she'll appreciate it more in the future than buying stuff now just for the sake of it!

Dolly and pram? Or a play kitchen? Or a smart trike,? Or Happyland?

TBH babies need different things throughout their first two-three years at different stages that I wouldn't really bother getting her anything "big". If she likes unwrapping things, then lots of smaller, much cheaper things (even charity shop "finds") would be more interesting to her than one big one. It also makes it easier to budget for large purchases as a) you can buy things in the sales and b) you don't have a time constriction.

Honestly, she won't know or expect a "big" present, so would save the money until she actually needs something.!

agree with NoSo... money in savings is always a good idea IMO, esp when they're so little and don't really get Christmas

I got a lovely mini kitchen from elc for £40. It's not on the website, only in store. If you join their birthday club you will get some discount too.

Alternatively, smaller gift wise, I've bought some ambi toys, the locking block and trumpet and they are great.

I also really recommend duplo, sticklebricks and happy land.

what about a keepsake? maybe a charm bracelet u add to each year? or an engraved money box?

nice boxed set of classic books eg Beatrix potter, winnie the pooh or mr men.

but if u did want a big toy poss a smart trike, kitchen or happyland.

other options - trampoline (ELC), activity cube, nice dolly, toy kitchen, duplo, nice stacker (we have gorgeous wooden ones that my kids still play with at 3 and 7 thats are stackable rainbows)

My 11 month old is getting the vtec musical tree for her main present. She'll love it (as will her 4 year old brother). It's not about the cost, it's about what they like, and at that age their tastes are quite cheap.

Save the money for the summer and outdoor toys which tend to be quite expensive. She won't have a birthday for getting summer toys.

I think with her birthday being close to Christmas I would get her a trike/sand pit/slide/swing type thing to use over summer as she sounds to be getting lots for Christmas. You could even wait and buy it in the spring so it's not hanging around and get a few little things for Christmas. My dd is 16 months and crazy in to dolls so possibly a doll and cot or high hair to grow into in a month or so.

DS got a wooden trike with a trailer attached from ELC for his 1st birthday which he absolutely loved and still does aged 23 months, so I'd recommend one :)

We had the same dilemma a couple of years ago as DD1 is a February birthday. We went for a few small things in he end and she got regular new toys throughout the year as development is so speedy and interests change so much at that age.

She is now coming up for three and much more definite about what she wants on her Christmas, so all a bit easier.

Noooooo. No ball pits. The balls go everywhere, all of the time. It's literally all you do...pick them up and put them back in.

Otoh, I'm sure it's fabulous fun if you're the baby!

Our DCs all got wooden height charts for their first Christmas - something to keep and use as they grew up, but still child-like rather than a piece of jewellery they wouldn't appreciate until they were much older. They all love them. They weren't anything like £120 - more like £30-£40. Another idea would be a painting or framed print for their bedroom - grandparents bought prints for each of our DDs on their first Christmases and they are being put to good use now decorating their rooms and I can see that they are the kind of things they could also keep and pass on to their own children. DD1 has 2 Doug Hyde prints and DTs have Clinton Banbury Fairy prints which are so super cute! Clinton Banbury Fairies

for DD's first Christmas (well, second really, but she was only a week old for her first!) my mum bought her a baby doll (my first baby born) which, 4 years on, is still a favourite.
Pram to go with it, she'll probably be walking in the next few months so she'll enjoy pushing her baby around.
Can't go wrong with Happyland, so maybe one of the bigger pieces - again, aged nearly 4, DD still plays with hers.

First Christmas we got our DS Waterbabies swimming classes for the year, Second we got Tumbletots. We don't have much space and family will buy him loads, plus it spreads cost across the year. Still stuck for this year!
