Do you open presents then make breakfast, or the other way round?
Do you have christmas dinner at lunch time or later in the afternoon?
Party in the evening or slob out and watch christmas tv?

Just being inquisitive Grin

Up and let DS open some presents. DH will bring through some champagne and nibbles just so it is quick and easy while presents are opened.

Off outside to heat the BBQ for bacon and eggs

Back in and first call of say to the Aussie relatives

As it is just the 3 of us, we chill out. Watch TV, play games and just really take DS lead.

About 2 we try and get out for some fresh air.

I will head into kitchen about 3 to get christmas dinner on.

Second call comes in for australia - usually very pissed relatives.

Dinner at usual time.

Try and get DD into bed fairly early so we can watch TV and have some time ourselves.

presents first then breakfast
christmas dinner is in the afternoon between normal lunch and dinner time
we chill out and watch tv in the evening

We stay at home for christmas and tend to go and visit my mum on boxing day. We dont see dh's family as they stay in England (they have just been here for 4 days though as it was my 40th birthday/party)

Oh I was just going to start this thread.

We open stockings in bed, get up & open Santa presents then DPs, sister & brother and families arrive to see what Santa left DS and I make breakfast. They all go home get ready and we have some other visitors pop in. Then we all go to my parents around 1ish and give out presents and have dinners round 4. We then do party games ect until the early hours.

We do it all again on Boxing Day with the Inlaws.

InTheRedCorner · 28/11/2013 19:27

Stockings on our bed in the morning and then get up and get dressed. DC play eat the contents of the stockings whilst we make breakfast.

Then open Santa presents.

Dinner at lunch time with Christmas dinner sandwiches for tea chocolate, wine and baileys through the day

Open the last remaining presents after Christmas lunch.

Take the puppy for its first Christmas ever walk this year as well Smile

MerryMarigold · 28/11/2013 19:30

Up and open Santa pillowcases stockings downstairs

Maybe one present before lunch
Eat around 1.30pm - Christmas dinner
PRESENTS AFTER LUNCH

Leftovers in evening
Kids to bed
Game like Trivial Pursuit with some Baileys

GlitteredPinecones · 28/11/2013 19:51

drive 40 mins to grandparents where extended family are (about 15 or so people)
relax for a bit
Late lunch
open presents with family
play games/watch tv
chill out
maybe go for a walk

Stockings in bed (I'm 28, still get in with mum and dad for this!)

Breakfast of scrambled eggs, ham and fizz,

Open one or two presents, all sit in the kitchen helping with cooking/drinking fizz/singing Christmas songs.

We open pressies periodically throughout the day any time we find a moment between cooking and drinking

Eat at 4ish

Then it all goes downhill... Ridiculous games, that usually involve shouting and swearing. Someone brings out a guitar. We sing out of tune. We get too drunk. We go to bed I love it!

This is what it's been like for the last few years now all the siblings are grown up (my youngest brother is 19). However, I now have a 9mo dd so not sure what it will be like this year!

Littlecurrentbun · 28/11/2013 20:20

New baby here but I will do what we did growing up when the time comes... Nobody opens anything until mum and dad are woke and we all go downstairs together.

Then open presents, eat breakfast. Wash, get dressed, go to mass at 10am

Competing home prepare dinner, tidy, play, eat, chill

Littlecurrentbun · 28/11/2013 20:22

Meant to say this year will mainly be on the road both sets of grandparents ... Will be tired and stuffed Grin

smellylittleorange · 28/11/2013 20:58

dgc have stockings in bed at silly o clock then play quietly [or even snooze a bit] until 7.Open one present each then cooked breakfast then presents from tree. Big family meal around 4 followed by games etc.

olibeansmummy · 28/11/2013 21:21

Me and dh wake up early and stomp around trying to wake ds up Grin.
Then go downstairs and ds will open his presents from Santa.
We'll get dressed and pop to my sister's house to exchange presents then on to sil's house for breakfast/ presents with them and pils.
We'll probably leave about midday and go home, where ds will play with his presents while I make lunch when we're ready for it ( dh and ds will probably build Lego together).
After lunch we'll open presents from/to each other. I'm going to buy myself Uno as I think ds will be able to understand it, so we'll play that together, then once ds is in bed me and dh will just watch Christmas TV and munch chocolates :)

Puffinlover · 28/11/2013 21:25

All presents first then breakfast. Buffet lunch and Christmas dinner at 5 pm ish. We prefer this as not rushing to get lunch ready and kids don't get too hungry/stroppy waiting for their main meal.
